Karin,

GC Services is a collections agency and if you are on their list you need to be aware of your rights and responsibilities - the government has powerful remedies at its disposal regarding collections on student loans. They farm out delinquent and defaulted student loans to lots of collections agencies and this company is one of them. GC Services has generated a lot of complaints about abusive practices all over the internet.

This website is a program of the National Consumer Law Center:

Go there fast and learn everything you can. Good luck, student loans are zombie debts - they seem to never die.
