Velocity has no web site which is very very strange. Call and ask them who their attorneys are and then check the attorney names with the Illinois Bar Association to see if they exist and have a law license and where they work. No web site and I would say go to your lender and work on a mortgage modification for free.

Trisha, I agree with Dorothy. Also, many lawyers are now trying to get you to pay upfront to help with your loan, and this is illegal. They try to get away with it by calling it a retainer. Rather than spend that extra money on an attorney, I would do what Dorothy suggested and work with your lender directly.
