Has anyone had any dealings with Unity West Lending (20280 Acacia Street, Suite 200 Newport Beach, California)? I'm wondering how reputable they are. Any feedback would be helpful. Thank you.

According to http://www.corp.ca.gov/fsd/licensees/ they are not a licensed California lender.

They are listed on TrustLink as a mortgage broker, rather than a lender, and that may explain their lack of licensing. They appear to have a stellar set of reviews and rating. http://trustlink.org/Reviews/Unity-West-Inc-206392012

Here is what the State of California has to say, "Who is Required to Obtain a Finance Lenders License? In general, any person engaging in the business of a finance lender or finance broker is required to obtain a California FInance Lenders license. It should be noted that the California Finance Lenders Law contains a number of exemptions for persons licensed by other regulatory agencies. A finance broker licensed under the California Finance Lenders Law may only broker loans to lenders licensed as finance lenders. The license does not provide the broker with the authority to broker loans to and collect brokerage commissions from other types of lenders such as credit unions and banks. Definitions A finance lender includes any person engaged in the business of making consumer loans or making commercial loans. "Finance broker" includes any person engaged in the business of negotiating or performing any act as broker in connection with loans made by a finance lender. A finance broker licensed under the California Finance Lenders Law may only broker loans to lenders licensed as finance lenders. The license does not provide the broker with the authority to broker loans to and collect brokerage commissions from other types of lenders such as credit unions and banks.

I can point you in the right direction! I am a senior loan officer at Activus Corporation in Irvine. If you look up our company here on Trustlink, you will find PAGES of positive comments. Also, 'A' rating with the BBB! Both company and myself are licensed and in good standing with the state and the nation. I have been in the industry for several years and have numerous satisfied clients that follow me to whichever company I work for.. I now work here for a few reasons.. Mostly, because we both lead our lives with honesty and integrity, and ALSO, Activus Corp is a WHOLESALE broker, who only deals with only the WHOLESALE division of our investors. Our rates are typically 1/4% LOWER than most major banks! Our turn around time is usually 2- 3 weeks! If you are interested in refinancing or purchasing a home, please contact me at 949-777-2751. I assure you, you will be satisfied with both myself AND Activus. - Viviane Naddour Senior Loan Professional 949-777-2751

Be very wary of ads like the one in this string of replies to your inquiry. Check them out on the BBB site at the very least. Ask for a guarantee of the fiduciary obligation to YOU. Get it in writing. That means they operate for your benefit and your benefit is always uppermost.

You're right Dorothy K! That's why I sited the BBB, Truslink and my personal good standing, both nationally and statewide. (You can look up my name on the nmls webite.)

And of course, as I previously stated, both myself and Activus Home Loans, lead our lives with both integrity and honesty. You can't get more honest out of someone! :)
