whatever you do - DO NOT PAY ANY UPFRONT FEES for your modification service. It is illegal in EVERY State to pay any upfront fees due to a Federal law known as FTC MARS Regulation 16. It restricts any modification company, Attorney or Real estate/mortgage professional from demanding or being paid in advance for performing modification services to a Distressed Home Owner.
