Affordable Water Heaters and Plumbing, Inc. While the actual plumber who performed the work was pleasant and as far as we know, did a good job, the business tactics the Company itself utilizes is disgraceful and unscrupulous. My husband called around to obtain pricing for hot water heater replacements and they quoted us $989 for a 50 gal gas water heater, including installation and removal of the old heater. I had my husband call them back a 2nd time to double check and confirm the pricing-which they did, confirming the previous quote, assuring us it included EVERYTHING, a new 50 gallon water heater, earthquake strapping, installation and removal of existing water heater. Plus, to top it off, they could be at our home between 11 AM - 1 PM. We proceeded to schedule with them. At 4PM and after 3 "where are you" calls, the plumber arrived checked out existing unit and proceeded to tell us the price quoted was an error and the job would cost $1,795. So here we are at the END of the business day.. stuck ? !!! We called the company and the person we spoke to claimed to have "just come on shift" and had no record of job etc. He apologized for the error (even though he insisted we would NEVER have been told that price, etc.) After much back and forth 'conversing' the representative said the "best" he could do was to give us a Triple AAA Membership Discount and the cost would be $1,401. Good Grief - that is still on the high cost end. Being a Commercial Property Manager, I knew I had been "duped". I also knew that at this time of day my chances of getting another plumber out to our locale, at what was now close to 5 PM, was not very likely. We reluctantly decided to proceed with the work. I personally believe this to be their 'tactic' to lure you in with a false price and to delay their arrival to as close to the end of the day as possible,Etc. BEWARE BEWARE !
