I had been battling with the Los Angeles Department of Child Support Services for 10 years. I tried attorneys, I tried all the other fathers rights groups and I tried Child Support Survival Services.
The LA DCSS are a bunch of corrupt individuals and if you think you that they will listen to you, you are wrong. If you owe child support, the DCSS treats you like trash. I hired an attorney and all I got was a waste of money. Then I became a member of a fathers rights group, who sold me “a guide” on how to do it yourself. The fee was $25. This was a total waste of money too because I am illiterate when it comes to family law. My last resort was Child Support Survival. They dont sell you a basic guide or booklet on what you have to do. As your advocate, they will speak with the Dept of Child Support and help solve the problem. My advocate @Child Support Survival spoke with the attorney working for the Los Angeles Department of Child Support Services and got him to see that there was a mistake on my case and they reduced my balance by $18,000. My advice: dont waste your money on private attorneys or these general booklets on how to do it yourself, if we knew how to do it ourselves, we would not be in this mess. If you don’t have the money for the membership into Child Support Survival-save till you do, it’s worth it.
