I purchased their platinum warranty when I bought the car new, at 33 miles off the lot. I never had a claim, but purchasing a $2,398 warranty really limits your ability to sell the car. If you sell the car prior to the warranty expiring you will lose a significant portion of the value of this "refundable" warranty. And bottom line, unless I am spending more than $2,400 I would not use this warranty for anything. And considering the car comes with a "lifetime warranty" anyway, I am really not sure what I was thinking when I bought the warranty.
My complaint now stems from my attempts to get a refund on this warranty, because I have eclipsed 100,000 miles on the car. I went through the hassle of having my odometer certified by a local dealership, which at the time, it was at 100,018 miles. I received a call from Fidelity Warranty claiming that my car had not been driven enough miles to claim the refund, because the mileage on the car when I bought it was 33 miles. Really? So, we had to recertify the mileage on the car...again, after several weeks later.
Bottom line, do not let a dealership sell you a warranty like this. Even if you could file a claim with it, you will have to jump through more hoops and red tape then the warranty is worth. I'm now waiting to see if I will actually receive a refund on the warranty after resubmitting the paperwork, or if Fidelity will find some other technicality to delay paying out what they owe me on this warranty.
NEVER AGAIN!!!
