My experience with MQI hasn't been either as rosy or as dismal as the others posted here.
On balance, though, I have to say that its been a disappointment and I can't recommend the service. I do think the individual MQI staffers I have worked with are well meaning and sincere, but I regret sinking my money and energy into this.
The way the program works is that the men pay a substantial fee to MQI, but the women pay nothing and only commit to recruit more of their friends. Logic would tell you that since the women don't pay anything, there would be a large ratio of women to men. I don't know the actual percentage breakdown between men and women, but I rarely meet anyone, which leads me to believe that there just aren't that many available women in the program.
For lack of a better term, I'm going to call the potential dates "referrals." Sometimes, several weeks will pass before I get a referral by e-mail. Many times, the referral simply doesn't return my call. A few of them try to "screen" me, asking questions that they either should have cleared up with the matchmaker or that are none of their business. So, that referral is a non-starter and then several more weeks pass until the next one. And on and on. To be fair, I have actually met some women and a couple of them I considered a good fit for me. But those are rare.
I didn't really go into it expecting to meet the perfect woman right out of the gate, but I was hoping to accelerate my social life by meeting women that at least had the potential to be right for me. I'm disappointed to say that MQI has fallen short of even my modest hopes.
