Review 3/26/2008
Prolaw is a legal calendaring and accounting software (they say it can do more but we only use these two portions). The calendaring portion is farely straight forward and the query function is easy to use since it uses a relatively plain language. The Accounting side of the program leaves a lot to be desired. We have check entries that continually drop from the system in whole or partially, leaving us to figure out what is missing. Deposit entries seem to drop on a monthly basis as well. We recently had a deposit from 2006 disapear and it has been closed for 2 years but it messed up our 2007 begining balance and transferred to our ending balance. The latest problem we are having is that time entered is being converted to admin time accross the board for entire cases and attorneys are now trying to figure out what they billed (We will more than likely end up losing around 30% of the missing time). We have been fighting the system for 6 months now and Prolaw has been dragging there feet more and more instead of fixing it. We pay appoximately 10k a year in support and they have not been able to fix the problem or gives us an explanation for 6 months and counting. I do not recommend Prolaw (or its cousin Thomson Elite) to anyone for an accounting solution.
