I could not have been happier with the service that Costa Rican Vacations provided us! They were very helpful in the planning of our vacation, giving us info that we could consider before making the decisions that were right for our family. While in Costa Rica, they we ALWAYS on time with our "pick-ups" for the tours we planned. All the staff at the hotels we stayed in spoke very highly of Costa Rican Vacations which made us feel confident in picking them to help us in planning or vacation.

Costa Rica vacations was great! Everything was well coordinated, communication was great throughout the trip--had a good contact for any problems we had during the trip. Very very impressed. We were treated like VIP's throughout the trip--at hotels, on tours, wherever we were.
We had one hotel we weren't happy with and CRV took care of us right away, moved us, got us transportation and worked with us to get some refund $$$ from the hotel we had booked.

I just read the 5 star review that other folks have submitted and all I can say is "DITTO"! Everything happened as planned. The drivers were always on time and had clean air conditioned vehicles. And they really knew how to drive around pot holes. Did I mention they were also very kind and informative. The adventure vendors and hotels that Costa Rican Vacations selected were all great too. Our agent was Joan Borelli. We toasted to her every night at dinner. Pura vida!

My husband and I used Costa Rican Vacations for our Honeymoon in August and we couldn't have been more pleased! Everything went according to plan and there wasn't a single hiccup.
During the planning process, the travel agent was extremely helpful, and he gave us a great deal. The package included a private transfer to and from the airport and several excursions, in addition to staying at Paradisus Playa Conchal resort. I honestly was a bit nervous about going down to Costa Rica because I don't speak Spanish, but everything went so smoothly. Prior to our trip, we received a very detailed breakdown of what we would be doing every day, including phone numbers of people to call if we had questions or needed to make a change.
When we were at the resort, we met some other couples who did NOT go through Costa Rican Vacations and it seemed like they didn't get the same level of personalized service we did (the private transportation, pre-planned excursions, etc.).
I highly recommend Costa Rican Vacations!

My wife and I booked our 40th b-day vacation with Costa Rican Vacations. We spent 9 days in Costa Rica from end of July-August. It is always a bit scary booking a vacation in another country with a company that you have not used or been referred to by someone. We took our chances along with their guarantee and we are glad we did. Everything was just like we were told it would be, they had a representative waiting for us as soon as we stepped off the plane. Every transfer, excursion, and our lodging was just as we hoped and even better. They have customer service available around the clock everyday of the week while in Costa Rica. They must be a large outfit because most everyone we spoke with on vacation had used Costa Rican Vacations for booking their trips. We plan to return to Costa Rica again with our Children next year because of our great trip.

My husband and I used Costa Rican Vacations to plan our honeymoon. We stayed at Paradisus Playa Conchal, at the recommendation of CRV and had a wonderful time! Our rep at CRV was Chris and he was so easy to work with and was quick to respond to our many questions! Our entire trip was incredible, all thanks to CRV. We did a zip line and an atv tour, both arranged by CRV and they were both great! We were picked up in a/c'd vans, the tour guides were nice and the tours were awesome! We were told that had we gone through the resort for the excursions we did, we wouldn't have had nearly as much fun! If we ever go back to Costa Rica (and I'm sure we will) I would use CRV again for sure! Thank you CRV for an incredible honeymoon!

When researching our Costa Rican Honeymoon, I was recommended by a friend to this company that helped plan trips, give recommendations, put itineraries together, arrange transfers etc.
I contacted the company and someone got back to me promptly and answered all of my questions - in terms of which areas in the country would appeal to our desire for an adventurous, yet luxurious two week honeymoon.
The representative that we worked with was GREAT! He was so helpful in giving us recommendations and planning an itinerary to include bus/plane transfers so we wouldn't have to rent a car. He worked with our budget and was able to make all of the reservations that we wanted.
Upon arriving in Costa Rica, there was a driver waiting for us when we arrived at the airport. Via the driver's cell phone,he put us in touch with someone in the office to ensure that we felt safe and that we knew exactly where we were going. During our stay in Costa Rica, we took about 6 transfers (car and plane) and everything went so smoothly. I couldn't recommend this service highly enough. Our hotels were spectacular and was so glad that we listeded to the recommendations of the customer service rep at CRV* about staying in one hotel over another because of the location.
Initially, I was skeptial about doing all of these transactions online, but I'm so glad that we did. Our honeymoon was perfect and 100% stressfree, and we also felt that we got better rates at the hotels rather than if we had made the reservations ourselves through the hotel websites.
That was our first time in the country and we plan to go back for our anniversary next year. We will book through Costa Rican Vacations again.

Marco worked with us to plan an amazing vacation in Costa Rica. We have had friends and family travel there over the past two years and heard nothing but great reviews about the country. We were warned that driving could be challenging on some roads. So when a friend planned her wedding in Costa Rica and recommended that we contact Costa Rican Vacations we jumped on the chance and had the remainder of the trip after the wedding planned. I am used to winging it on my own so it was such a pleasure to have a trip all mapped out so we could make the most of our time. I felt like we made no mistakes and that the tour was made up of the best that Costa Rica had to offer and at a fair price. It was such a luxury to have friendly, knowledgeable drivers pick us up and take us to each detination.
We walked on hanging bridges, rode horseback, hiked to Arenal volcano, relaxed in a hot spa and went on one of the most fun white water rafting trips ever. I loved the hotels that were selected. Everyone is so friendly, knowledgable about the history of the country, plants, animals and scenery. I can't wait to have an excuse to return.

We used Costa Rica Vacations for the first time this year. My husband was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and we have traveled there many times but have not been in 10 years. We went this year (July 2010) and had great assistance by Stephanie Hudson. Our hotel arrangements, rental car, and zip line tour were handled wonderfully. Stephanie also spoke with me at length by phone regarding our arrangements and what to expect in various parts of Costa Rica prior to our traveling. We were very pleased and everything was handled very professionally.

I booked a trip with this company and went on my trip last month(6/10). I worked with a travel consultant, Allen, and together we custom built a vacation that perfectly my interests and budget. Allen was always prompt when answering my many questions. Our trip was great. We did not have to worry about a thing when we got to Costa Rica. The hotels that Allen set us up with were great and our transportation to each of our locations was on time. I would highly recommend using this company if you are interested in planning a trip to Costa Rica. I will definitely be using them again and will be sending over many friends

My wife and I booked our honeymoon with CR Vacations. Anytime you book a trip with a company you are not familiar with there are the usual concerns about how legitimate a company is. With Costa Rican vacations those fears were alleviated very early on in the process. I received prompt and helpful responses to all of my emails. The trip planner was very patient and very flexible in accommodating several of the changes we requested to our itinerary, and was very up-front about what implications those changes would have on the price of our trip. She was great about making sure that our in-country itinerary matched up with our flights to and from CR.
The moment of truth, of course, is when you arrive at the airport and hope that someone will be there to pick you up. We saw about 5 employees at different points in the airport--just outside the terminal, one at baggage claim all of them directing us to the next step, one at the curb outside who walked us over to the car where our driver was waiting (this was at about 10:30 at night). In short, every time someone was supposed to come pick us up, they did--on time. The only surprise we had on the trip was how smooth everything went. We were very impressed. The whole trip went off without a hitch. Our hotels were great, the activities great, the trip was amazing. CR Vacations does an awesome job and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to have a great vacation without any hassle.

We have just had the most amazing honeymoon in Costa Rica, booked through Costa Rican Vacations. They were truly brilliant at all points, firstly in designing our perfect holiday and secondly in supporting us the whole way and making us feel completely pampered and looked after from the moment we touched down at the airport to the moment that we left. We could not have done the holiday any cheaper if we had arranged it ourselves and their local knowledge was second to none. They understood what we wanted to the T and they provided it beyond our expectations. All the hotels and lodges they placed us in were just simply beautiful, and we could not come up with one low point when we looked back on the whole 2 weeks after the holiday, which is amazing. My wife and I have traveled extensively in every continent but Central & South America. From what we had heard Costa Rica was the ideal destination to venture into this area so we dug around the websites and found Costa Rican Vacations. From the start their web site was professional and informative. Our early enquiry gave us a contact (Kathy) who took pains to understand our needs and gave us quick and accurate answers to the many questions we had. We had the feeling that she was personally interested in the success of our trip. Our two week vacation ran like clockwork and exceeded our expectations in terms of accommodation, food, service and content. We had a great time and feel that we now know this part of the world a little bit better. Nor did Costa Rican Vacations leave it there - their post trip follow up ensured that they obtained the feedback that will enable them to continue to meet their high standards. I would not hesitate to recommend Costa Rica as a destination, and Costa Rican Vacations as the people to look after you.

My wife and I were quite pleased with our dealings with Costa Rica Vacations. We never had to worry about what was going on next as everything was set up for us to run very smoothly. It was a bit tough dealing with agencies as I was not that familiar with Costa Rica. However, after talking with the CRV rep he found out what I was looking for and helped to mold the perfect honeymoon. We had the time of our lives and enjoyed every minute of our 11 day honeymoon in three different parts of Costa Rica!

Costa Rican Vacations was wonderful! My husband and I travelled to Costa Rica in May for our Honeymoon and had a fabulous time. We had gotten quotes from several other Costa Rican Travel Agencies and kept coming back to the same language barrier problem. We weren't 100% positive that we were getting what we wanted. After calling Costa Rican Vacations and speaking to Theresa we changed our minds. She was so helpful and spoke fluent English(she was an American living in Costa Rica). This was a huge plus! She also understood the type of Honeymoon we wanted and helped design the perfect adventure honeymoon for us. We had one hiccup with a hotel we stayed at and the Costa Rican Vacations Customer Service Staff contacted the hotel and let them know how disappointed we were. They upgraded us to the nicest room they had the next night. The best part by far though was the drivers. How wonderful each person was. It was so great to get to stop at SAFE locations and get their recommendations for restaurants, gifts and picture locations. It took all of the anxiety about being in new locations away. We would definitely use Costa Rican Vacations again and recommend them to all of our friends. The only negative aspect of our honeymoon was that the snorkeling tour got cancelled due to too much rain and we had to choose an alternative tour once in Manuel Antonio. We would have rather been notified earlier so we could have done another tour in Arenal. Mucho Gracias!

We used Costa Rican Vacations for to assist us with planning our honeymoon. They described the hotels, the services offered at the hotels, and also the activities that we could enjoy. Our Honeymoon was perfect!!! We are so glad we went with them. They blew away our expectations!!! This was our best trip we have ever been on!!! I strongly recommend using Costa Rican Vacations. We just came back from Costa Rica two weeks ago. I have heard how beautiful Costa Rica was, and I wanted to discover with my family its beauty. One agent, that was very helpful organized our trip. She listened to all my concerns, and organized a wonderful trip for my husband, son and myself.
My husband was very pleased with the activities, so was my son. The hotels were better than expected. Since we landed in Costa Rica, we were treated very very kindly. The "ticos" ( people from Costa Rica ) are extremely friendly and they take good care of its tourists as well as their wonderful country. We visited monteverde and arenal volcano.
I am very pleased with Costa Rica Vacations that made our trip a wonderful trip!! Thanks to all its staff!!! I strongly recommend!! +++++

My husband and I were extremely happy with our experience with Costa Rican vacations. Although I was initially wary of arranging the vacation via the Internet, from our agent's first response on, my concerns went allayed. I didn't feel any pressure to book a particular hotel or pay more money than our budget allowed, and the back and forth process arranging the itinerary went extremely well. I also was concerned about having to fax my credit card information to a different place than the agency, but that process also turned out to be okay without any strange charges occurring on my bill or other similar issue.
Our trip was amazing! Costa Rica is a beautiful country that wants its tourists to be happy. Everyone at the hotels was extremely polite as were all our drivers. (The drivers deserve a special mention because they were so very polite, punctual and accommodating. I don't know how much extra you end up paying for private transport, but I do think it was well worth the expense.) Each of the hotels we stayed at were just as represented--and the food was delicious both at the hotels and at different restaurants where we ate.
My only negative comment would be that one of the tours we signed up for didn't turn out to be exactly as described by our agent. Instead of a relaxing eco-horseback riding tour, we ended up with an extremely challenging ride and trail, followed by an equally challenging hike by foot to a waterfall, without having been forewarned to bring a bathing suit so we could swim and cool off like everyone else on the tour. All of the other tours though were as represented and made up for this one less than perfect experience.
I recommend a trip to this lovely country to anyone and highly recommend making the arrangements through Costa Rican vacations.

We recently traveled to Costa Rica for our honeymoon and went through Costa Rican Vacations to build our itinerary. They listened to every request we had to make the best trip possible. From the time we got off the plane, to the time we go back to the airport we were taken care of. From being greeted at the airport with our own transfer to the hotel, to expert guides to the Rincon de la Viaja, to an amazing hotel, we could not be any happier with our decision to use Costa Rican Vacations to book our trip.
