EyeBuyDirect Very bad experience
Bad! Do not order form these people. My frames measured wider. They offered refund if I pay a restock of 10$ I pay postage I told them I want full refund, they pay postage, no extra fees. On top of this they sent their 'proper' but hidden-measuring guide-without side lugs-which is a huge discrepancy to the measuring guide they show in their product description. Even when I used their "hidden" guide, the frames ended up being smaller than stated. I have taken this case to paypal. I have photo's including their screen shot of the size frames and their product diagram which includes side lugs, my online chat, and emails. In one review they ask to rate the price...how can you rate price on something that's useless????

Still waiting for quality checkand the glasses are already on my credit card bill
Wish I had read these reviews beforehand and I never would have ordered from this company. It has been 17 days and I still have not received my glasses. Their web site indicates the glasses have been in the "quality check" status for over 7 days now.
Today, I received my credit card bill in the mail and found that EyeBuyDirect charged my card for the glasses 17 days ago. So, they are on my credit card bill and they are yet to ship from the company. Nothing irritates me more than when a business charges my card before shipping. It's bad business. They promise glasses in 14 days, but its not happening.

You get what you pay for (junk!)
This month, I ordered single vision frames with high-index lenses. I didn't get progressives due to having read that to do so is usually a big mistake with these online eye glasses companies. I'm very glad I didn't, as the money I did spend was pretty much wasted.
I did not set my expectations high— just wanted a backup pair in case my good glasses break. They arrived reasonably quickly, but turned out to be total junk. The frames in particular. Nothing at all like the "try it online" photos showed. Bigger (in a bad way, not in a fashionable way), darker, and very cheap in look and feel. It was a definite case of you get what you pay for.
The sides don't rest on my ears or whatever like they should. They just reach back there, somewhere above my ears, and sort of grip my head a little bit (like that won't cause a headache in ten minutes!). And compared to what I expected from frames, the plastic was very junky cheap plastic. Worse, the frames were scratched up on the ear pieces, like they had been used or clamped and gripped by something scratchy over and over. Either that or somebody practiced their Dremel sander on them and then returned them.
So... all I have to say is, thankfully they were wicked-cheap, and god they have *really good* photographers! Because what you get is not at all what you think you're buying.
They'll do in a pinch. A serious pinch, where my very survival is at stake like I gotta have *something* or I will literally die in 24 hours. That kind of pinch. Lol. I'm not going to bother with a return because I've read that can be quite a hassle, so instead hopefully this review will help ward off others from throwing away good money.

Extremely slow
Took over 3 weeks when website said 10 days. Glasses looked big and manly..nothing like the 'eyetry' picture. I gave them 2 stars because I could see better with my glasses but too ugly to wear in public. I'm trying a different site.

A Total Scam
Avoid EyeBuyDirect at all costs! You *think* you will get a cheap pair of glasses, what you will get instead is WEEKS of unbelievable hassle, rule and unhelpful people that want to bait and switch you into much more expensive options after your first pair is so unbelievable poorly made. They hit you with all these hidden fees. You will waste MANY hours trying to work with their staff who has a never ending list of questions and excuses as to why they YET AGAIN can't fulfill your order. It doesn't matter how much money you think you will save with these guys, it will be the worst experience you have ever had in online shopping. Save yourself the trouble.

Okay for Single Vision, but do not order Progressives
I ordered progressives with the lens upgrade, anti-glare, scratch resistance, and UV protection. When I received my glasses, the progressive corridor was cut too high. This was verified by optical lens shop and eye doctor. Also, I did not get a premium lens. What I received was a cheap Chinese made progressive lens, no anti-glare, no scratch resistance. The glare is so bad from the glasses you cannot drive at night with them. I contacted EyeBuyDirect and played email tag for about two weeks with their customer support. Don't even try the 800 number as I was never able to talk to anyone live. First of all, their customer support knows nothing about eyeglasses so you are wasting your time. They have English names on their emails but I guarantee you they are in Pakistan or India or some such foreign entity as you can tell from their English. Secondly, the reason they are so cheap is they do not have certified and licensed opticians making the lenses for your glasses. Their staff may have training, but they do not have optician certification required by most states to do business. This is why they operate online only. Bottom line, yes, they are a great bargain and would do fine for single vision or bifocals, but for progressives, you are wasting your money.

Wrong replacement frames - Poor customer service
I ordered 2 pairs of glasses from Eye Buy Direct and the whole experience was pretty good. Great prices on the frames, wasn't sure about the quality of the lenses.
Found one of the frames to be way too big for my face. Kind of difficult to judge with a picture of yourself and a funny plasticky frame on your face. Nevertheless, I misjudged what the frames would look like on my face and returned the glasses. Paid for shipping (19.95 in Canada in order to get a tracking number) and the $10.00 restocking fee. Ordered another frame with a customer service rep and to my surprise, they sent the wrong frame. Had a choice of 6 frames on my favourite's list (chose the smallest frame) and the frame they sent wasn't even on my list! The frame I received was bigger than the original one I sent back. Customer service would not right their wrong... Totally disappointed.
A word of caution. You cannot see the the replacement frames on your original order, so you have no way of knowing if the customer rep go it right when you spoke to him (her). Ask the person to repeat the details to you in order to make sure he (she) got it right.
Now stuck with a pair of glasses that I will never wear in public, probably use them in the garage as safety glasses. Had I bought my glasses at an optician, I certainly wouldn't have saved any money, but I wouldn't have had these hassles either.... Customer service at an optician's office is usually top notch, totally unlike the service your likely to get from a customer service rep from Eye Buy Direct....
Wish I would have read this blog before I tried to save a couple of bucks....
Never buy from them again....

Deceptive descriptions. Poor return policy
Their product descriptions are deceptive - they do not show that prescription sunglasses have separate lenses, and the lenses are weakly attached.
Their return policy is poor - they hide the exclusion for Designer Frames (branded), Sunglasses, Sport frames, and Accessories at the very bottom of the return policy, and not at all on the pages where the glasses are sold.

Delivery Scam in Canada
Ordered a pair of glasses from EyeBuyDirect for shipment to Canada. Paid for the glasses, plus the shipping costs (around $10 for shipping). Glasses took forever to get delivered and when they finally arrived at Canada Post I was advised I needed to give Canada Post another $10.00 to pay for the shipping as they were being sent COD. I contacted EyeBuy and they advised this is for Customs Duty & Taxes. I contacted Canada Post and they said there were not duties or taxes - this was just for the shipping costs which were not paid by the shipper.
My "cheap" glasses ended up costing me more money, and a headache dealing back and forth with this company.
At the end of it all EyeBuy said that I should pay the shipping bill and they will reimburse me. Told them that is not how I do business, and will not use their services again.

Scam! avoid!
I ordered a of progressive glasses from these jerks and when I got them they were 5mm too large (their measurements were off on website) and since it was their mistake I didnt think I should have to pay the 10 restocking fee but they refused me..strike one..I returned them for a replacement..not only did they charge me the 10 restocking fee but I couldnt get back the 39 for the progressive lens!!! So off the bat there goes 49 bucks..its been 2 weeks now and twice tried to get the info to them on the replacement and hoth times the frames are sold out..Im so frustrated I could scream!!! Avoid them!!!

They get better with age.
I've been doing business with EyeBuyDirect for several years, but I've noticed that turn-around time on shipping is now faster than in the past...placed my order on a Saturday from Florida and received my glasses the following Saturday...only took a week where in the past it took about two weeks. Their products have always been superb for the price...you simply can't go wrong!

Don't waste you time
This company has terrible service. Don't waste your time trying to save a few dollars. They have tried to get my glasses right twice - neither pair was correct - both made me dizzy. When I asked them to honor their guarantee, they informed me the frames I originally selected were no longer available and I would have to pick new ones for an "upcharge." I see from reviews on other sites, I am not the only person to experience this. Customer service has an attitude that screams "I could care less" Steer clear.

Very satisfied
I usually choose a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses then have my usual prescription (not tinted) put in (progressives). I noticed last December that my optometrist was asking $360 for Clubmasters which you can get at Sunglass Hut for $150. With my prescription and taxes, we were in the neighborhood of $800.
I chose to only get my prescription. I then ordered from EyeBuyDirect.com. I chose very nice retro frames with my prescription. Took 3 weeks, cost $104. I went to another optometrist to have the frames adjusted, offered to pay for the service. The guy told me that those were very nice, high quality glasses. I'm very satisfied, even ordered RX sunglasses yesterday. And if an accident ever happens, well it'll hurt quite a bit less than looking at a $800 expense! :-)

7 pairs over 5 years, loved them all
I just received a pair of progressive lens glasses from eyebuydirect.com. They are the second pair of progressive lens glasses I have purchased from this company. I have been nearsighted since a young age, but only needed the progressive lenses for 2.5 years. I have been happy with every pair of glasses I purchased from this company. I have purchased prescription sunglasses, a pair of auto-darkening eyeglasses where I asked them to omit the progressive lenses & just use my old prescription since these were for outdoors only, and several other pairs. Customer service has been excellent, my prescription seemed to be right every time, and every pair lasted until I needed a new prescription. I am surprised at all of the bad reviews on this site.

Eye Buy Direct Macedo Sunglass Review
I can only speak about my experience.
I was a bit skeptical at first. I have never bought RX sunglasses offline.
A coworker recommended the EyebuyDirect Website.
I placed my order for the Macedo - Black (Large Size) on 12/28/2012 after a couple of email responses about each stage the glasses were in I became a little impatient and contacted Customer Service via the website. I was able to chat with a rep and was informed that it would be at least 2 days before the product shipped.
Two days later I was given a tracking number for UPS. The glasses arrived today 1/09/2012 the only issue I had was the rubber lining had to be super glued. Overall my experience was great. The Macedo - Black (Large Size sunglasses are very nice the prescriptions are accurate. I don't believe the company has enough positive reviews therefore I wanted to put this one out there. I will definitely purchase again from EyebuyDirect.com.

Don't Risk Your Time and Money just to save few dollars buying from this company!!!!!
I really did not want to risk buying eye glasses from an online service. I tried and tried harder but then I took the risk and decided to use eyebuydirect.com. What a mistake it was. I decided to buy progressive glasses and I ordered two pairs. The delivery was prompt (about 2 weeks)so that was not the problem. The problem is they messed up on the progressive lens. They stated that if I needed correction, I would have to pay extra for each pair plus shipping cost. I told them, how can they prove that the mistake was my fault after I had provided all the necessary information. You can't trust their service, because they can make a simply mistake and then blame it on you and then if you want it corrected they are willing to make the correction for $10 per pair. I wonder how many of this things they do to others.
Anyway, after telling them off, I requested my complete payment, however, they indicated that I would still need to pay for restocking fee of $20 in order to get my payment. That means either way I will loose out. They finally said they will just correct the mistake for free and send me new pairs in three weeks. I will wait and see if they keep their promise. Bottom line, is don't risk your time and money and just go to a real walk in optic store and get proper pair of glasses.

eview EyeBuyDirect.com - pleased so far
I just received my order of no line bifocal rimless glasses from EyeBuyDirect, and am very very pleased at how it looks and feel. It took slight more than 3 weeks from order to delivery. I did email them about 1 week ago, and the prompt response was that it was being processed, and then 1-2 days later that it has been shipped. I was afraid that it would be flimsy or not to specifications. One magnetic button holding the case close needed some superglue to hold it in place.
Otherwise, everything seems great!
If there is a problem later on - like some reviewers reported - I will report back

I ordered on 11-6. It is 11-22 and still waiting for my 10 day delivery as stated on their Website. I have received several responses from the company explaining they were backed up... Order will not be shipped until after 11-25...therefore the order will not be received for 20 business days. I will be canceling my order if not received by 11-25.
From the FAQ section on their site:
"For courier, we are availing the service of the UPS two-day service; you will get your order within 10 business days (For USA)"

Ordered a pair of glasses for my son, On Oct. 27, today is Nov. 14th it still says order being processed. order 1037794, emailed them, waiting to see what they say. I should have read reviews before ordering them!! I hope to be proved wrong, but so far, it has been almost 3 weeks and no glasses.!!
