Professional Solar Installer
I called these guys after I had a quote from another company. The salesman came out, and did not try to hard sell me. They were $10,000 cheaper, and had a much better product. I spent many hours researching companies, and these guys stood out. The installation crew was great. They all seemed to know what they were doing, and seemed like they enjoyed their jobs. The inspection crew was here a couple days later, to meet with the city inspector. I was impressed as to how smooth everything went. If you are looking for solar, this is your company.

Positive Experience
Great company. Professional. Good communication -- called us periodically just to let us know the status of various steps of the permitting and installation process (of solar panels). Friendly and knowledgeable employees. Great product.

Solar Panel Installation
My dealings with Galkos Construction in regards to the solar panel installation have been top notch. The salesman was very professional, knowledgeable and did not do a hard press sale. All installation appointments were on schedule and any communication was courteous and prompt. The pricing was better than expected and seemed very fair. Compared to what other companies offer, the equipment they offer is very good. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking into solar power.

Prompt Service
We were pleased with the prompt service we received throughout the whole installation process. Everything was done in a timely manner and with professionalism. If the time was set for between 8 and 10 AM, they were here shortly after 8.

Solar Panel Installation
We decided to change our energy from SDGE to Solar Panels, GCI Energy did the panels installation in our house and we were very satisfied, the crew they sent was very polite, professional, clean and knowledge of their work. I really recommend them.

Smooth Installation and Great Customer Service
Thanks to everyone at GALKOS / GCI for their smooth installation of my new Solar System. I was apprehensive at first but now I'm very excited since after the first day of turning on the system my meter was actually running backwards ... WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG TO FINALLY INSTALL SOLAR?
The customer service at GCI was excellent. Every question I had was quickly answered to my satisfaction. The folks at GALKOS / GCI are great. I've already recommended them to several of my friends who have high electrical bills.

I do not typically write reviews, but I wanted to share how pleased we were with GCI. We recently had them install a solar system on our home. All staff was very professional, communicated well and completed their work on time and as specified. They were trustworthy and reliable. Jason walked us through the installation and approval process, and was on site as needed. The installation was completed in just one day, and they were out the next day to wait for the city inspector. The system was up and running, saving us money, within just a couple weeks, after SDGE completed their inspection and authorization. Clean up was great. Justin came out to check on us and walk us through the online monitoring. We are looking forward to reviewing our upcoming energy bills to see how low they can go.
I would definitely recommend GCI Energy Products.

Start to Finish, Great Service!
Getting Solar from GCI starting with the Sales person to the install group and down to the final on site "How to/Any questions" session has been better than I could have expected from any construction company. It has restored my faith in service based companies, good service can still happen in 2011! Our sales rep Rocky was low pressure and had all the needed facts to make us comfortable going forward. The install team was onsite when they said they would be and they did a great job installing our equipment. When I saw that they painted the conduit going up the side of my house to match our stucco I knew this was not just the get done and get out job you would expect. Having Justin Curtis come out at the end of the process to show us how the system works and take the time to answer questions just topped off a good experience.

Going Solar
My wife and I researched many solar companies before going with GCI. Our salesperson, Bill was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with us ensuring we understood everything we needed to know to make a decision. He was very patient as I do not make decisions hastily. He researched the answers to additional questions I had to help me make the best and informed decision for my family. I was most impressed by the most up to date technology used by GCI and the 25 year warranty on not only the panels, but the micro inverters as well. Additionally, my wife and I were extremely happy with the personal attention, the professionalism and the knowledge of our salesman, Bill; our installer Ryan and our final walk through guy, Justin. Head and Shoulders Above the Competition
I am happy to add yet another glowing review to the slate that is already here. Good companies who know what they’re doing and do it very, very well are just plain rare in this day and age. The crew at Galkos is knowledgeable, skilled, and unusually courteous and pleasant to deal with. “Not a problem” seems to be their middle name, and they not only say it, but they actually do what they said they were going to do. They appear at appointed times and they finish whatever phase they said they were going to do. And, they take whatever time is necessary to answer the homeowners’ questions all along the way.
We are amateur techies at our house, so we love the fact that you can easily monitor the performance of your panels in real time. As their installer, Greg, told us, “ You should probably hose the panels off about once a year, usually late in the dry season when they may be gathering some dust. Your monitor may show a slight reduction in efficiency.” Then, with an impish look, he added “For instance, if a pterodactyl happens to fly over your house and leave you a little present, your panel s monitor will notice that and tell you exactly where it is!”
Our house is old and, over the years, we have had dozens of improvements made and upgrades installed. Without a doubt, this solar job has been the smoothest one ever. From our initial meetings with Garrett—whose patience with our questions never lapsed, through the site inspection/layout visit with Dok, the installation by Greg and his son, Clint, the city inspection handled by Anthony, the final wrap-up and computer monitoring setup with Justin, through the coordination of everything by the main office, everything was done on time and as promised. These are just plain nice people to deal with, as well as being highly skilled and experienced.
The job was completely done far ahead of schedule, so now we are awaiting the final signoff from So Cal Edison so we can throw the switch and begin collecting. I plan to update this review after we have a month or two of performance data to pour over, but I already know we are going to be hugely pleased.
I would gladly recommend Galkos Construction (GCI) to anyone. A great company; doing one’s bit to get greener and help save the planet; getting a hefty tax rebate from the Obama admin; and saving a large portion of one’s electricity bill – what’s not to like?

Solar System
Dealing with Galkos Construction was a great experience. From the initial sales call to the final call making sure that everything with to my satisfaction, this company was a delight to deal with. I had a Solar Panel electric system put in. The work was done professionally in just one day and all of the paperwork and permits were done as promised. Everything was either on time or early. I would highly recommend Galkos. I looked at many companies that try to sell you more than you need and selected Galkos because they were the only honest ones that sold me the size system what I wanted.

100% Satisfied
We have never worked with any company or contractors who are as conscientious and reliable as GCI has been. Everyone from the first person we talked with on the phone to the sales person, installers and even the president has been top notch. Whenever we had a question, they were quick to respond and had an answer that made sense. I even made a call to the president to ask a question and he responded within 24 hours. That type of customer service is unheard of in today's society but GCI knows how to do good business.
We have already been recommending them to our neighbors and friends and can't wait to see how much money we'll be saving by going solar with our electric bill.

Very professional company!
When I had my initial appointment with Adam Garret of GCI I was a bit hesitant about going solar. Adam was extremely professional and gave a very thorough explanation of how the solar panel system would work, the various payment options available, and how the installation process would occur. I signed up for the rental plan they had. I was amazed at how fast the whole process took. Within a few weeks permits were approved and my system was installed. The guys were very professional and did a great job installing the system. I would definitely recommend them if you are planning on going solar.

Excellent Work/Excellent Service/Excellent Value
I approached the GCI Energy representative at Sam's Club after writing a $260 check to So. Cal. Edison. I had Scott come to my house and review my energy usage and write up an estimate, he covered all angles. I was happy to go green once I could see how it would help me save some green;) All in all, he was very informative and showed me plenty of objective information to back up the product (solar panels), how it would benefit me, and why GCI could do it better and for less than anyone else. I signed the agreement.
After that, I didn't have to think about anything, the support staff (Jennifer) was on top of it. I received calls giving me updates on progress and they assisted me when I accidentally threw away some necessary documents. The support staff is sharp and kept me in the loop.
Construction day: They were here on time (in fact...with each appointment I had with Galkos, they arrived right at the start of the 2 hour window they committed to). The construction crew was very respectful of our baby's nap time and had the unit up in a couple of hours so our little one could have her usual nap on time. They were not invasive at all and made every effort to not disturb our daily routine.
After construction, they got all the work signed off by the appropriate entities within a week and a half (which is a miracle if you've ever had to deal with SCE).
Then Justin came out to set up the monitor and get us on line. He walked me through everything (and don't worry, the system is very user friendly...if ever there is a problem, it notifies you...no need to check up on the system regularly). Anyway, I had some internet issues that with Justin's technical expertise, were able to work through quickly. He even helped me move our very heavy entertainment center so the wife could plug in her Christmas lights (the entertainment center was completely not involved with the solar panel system at all, he just saw my wife was frustrated that she couldn't get lights to work and jumped in to fix it for her...definitely went the extra mile).
In the final analysis, I would recommend GCI to anyone...they are true pros (not hacks) who understand the importance of quality workmanship and good customer service...the length of time they have operated under the same construction license proves that last statement.

GCI Review
Overall, my family’s experience with GCI was really enjoyable. From the get go the company’s representatives provided us with ample amount of information to how the Solar panels work to how we can monitor their strength or status down to the hour. But unfortunately every company has a few weak points or bad apples. The representatives that came to our home were AWESOME; however the office staff is truly the company’s weak point. They were quite disorganized and frankly a little rude at times. But the customer service from the field representatives outweighed the poor customer service from the office staff. Overall, a great company as a whole!

The contacts at the office were helpful, fast and efficient.

We have just installed solar at our home at the Reserve club and have been delighted with every step along the way dealing with this company.
The initial sales staff was polite, professional, and very helpful. The final
system installation was done yesterday by Justin and Rick Curtis, a delightful, low-key, super-competent team of brothers.
Anyone considering installing solar should by all means interview this company.
