Complaints
6/8/2013 The Hair club customer interaction is very poor. I felt deceived about the payment and the program. When I asked questions about how many times I needed a hair change, I was given incorrect information. Each time they applied the new hair to my head it began to shed and never lasted for a week. The hair began to look like I was balding. The people that were assigned to work on my hair would be changed each week. The hair itched and when I told them they said that I should have known. They were not reliable. The service procedures I received were very expensive and I expected to get my monies worth. However, I was sadly disappointed. They informed me that if I paid on time I would receive a percentage back. So I expect my money back. I will also be writing the better business bureau. And I would not recommend anyone go and receive any services that they offer.

HAIR CLUB FOR MEN A BIG SCAM
I BOUGHT THE HAIR IN FEB BUT I DIDN'T GET IT TIL APRIL, 2 MONTHS LATER. WHEN I WENT TO GET IT PUT ON IT WAS THE WRONG SIZE AND COLOR AND BODY. IT WASN'T MADE FOR ME SO THEY PUT A REFURSHED ONE ON WHICH MEANS A USED DEAD HAIR UNIT ON ME. I WANTED MY MONEY BACK WHICH WAS $3495.00 THEY WOULD NOT REFUND MY MONEY SO HERE I WAS WITH NO HAIR AND ($3495.00) AND I HAVEN'T GOT ANYTHING YET. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR AND WITH ALL THE CONTACTING THEM AND SENDING THEM THE EMAILS AND CALLS THEY WON'T HELP ME LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOOD. ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY THAT'S IT. DON'T BE TOOK IN BY THEM. I HAVE FOUND REAL HAIR FOR 1/3 THE COST AND 110% BETTER. I WOULD NEVER TELL ANYONE TO GO TO HAIR CLUB FOR MEN CAUSE THEY WILL GET YOUR MONEY AND KEEP ON GETTING IT BY HAVING TO GO BACK TO HAVE IT REDONE AND AFTER 3 MONTHS YOU HAVE TO BUY SOME MORE FOR $1500.00 EA. IT'S A RIP OFF. kat from tennessee

Hair Club for Men what a joke
I had cancer and during the chemo I lost quite a lot of my hair. It was already thinning and after chemo it just didnt grow back. I decided to go to Hair Club for Men after seeing all these magic solutions and the guys showing off their new hair and their girl friends falling all over them because of their new hair. They offered all the different kinds of solutions the ads said. Well thats all bull what they offer is a wig. They tell you its just a lot better to shave the top of your head so it the wig will fit better. Well I went to get it installed and at first there was so much hair I didnt even recognize myself when they showed it to me in a mirror. I kept telling her thats too much hair. My God I never had that much ever. Well I got it all installed and it looked kinda ok just a lot different. When the guys on their ad says no one knew not even the people they worked with thats really a joke. If they couldnt tell the difference then they really wasted their money. We were in Phoenix at the time and I went to the airport to pick up my son when he came to visit. He hardly recognized me. He called me Tom Cruise and had a good laugh. When I got home I went to the bowling alley where I spend a lot of time and know almost everyone that comes in there. I had people laughing at me and asking me "what in the hell happened to you". One thing that really bothered me was when I took a shower it was like wearing a hat. I hated that I like to feel the water on my head and I sure didnt want to take it off and retape it everytime I took a shower. I gave up and took it off and just decided to go bald in peace. No one offered any transplants only wigs at the Hair Club for Men that I went to. Now I do see its advertised but costs 3 times as much as Bosley. One other thing when I took it off I stored it under the bathroom sink in the RV we were in for the Winter. One morning I heard my wife let out a big scream and come running out of the bathroom. She found it under the sink and thought it was a rat.

Unprofessional
The Hair Club for men hires unprofessional staff. We went to the Dallas Texas office and like a past review I just read on here, they will bug you over and over and over on the phone. We had went to an original appointment and met with David which he was nice. After we asked them not to contact us while we were on vacation, they did, numerous times. Then when we showed up for our second appointment, we saw a female, Stacey, that said she wanted to make sure we saw her this time because she thought we were rude when they called us on vacation and we werent open to dicussion. Since she was caddy and rude to us we cancelled my husbands surgery. Since then we have recieved 2 bills including late fees from the finance company. We have an attorney involved with this but Stacey is playing a game about not notifying the finance company of the cancellation. Dont get tied up with this company, they will be nothing but a problem to your life.

Total Scam.
I started going to hairclub back in 2000 just before my baldness was starting to get noticable. At first i didnt think i looked so good, but then a couple years later i upgraded to a better system & i really think i looked good & the hair looked natural. However, the company was sold to a new corperation who kept the HCM name & now the systems are Not consistant at all. you may get a good one, you more then likely will get a bad un-natural looking one. The problem is.... every time you talk to someone you are thinking "this guys looking at my head, it dosnt look natural, omg i hope my hair looks good etc". If your gonna live like that you may as well just shave your head or get a hair transplant. Speaking of hair transplants, HCM does that two. At my initial consultation the doctor told me I have an egghead & i wouldnt look good bald. Then he proceded to tell me after he just insulted me that it would cost me 10 grand for only 1500 grafts & i will need another 1500 in the near future. i was quoted $9200 for 3000 grafts from a different Transplant Doctor. WTH. do your homework guys!

HCM Client for 14 Years 1990-2004
I was an HCM client for 14 years (1990-2004). In the early days, the hairpieces were very detectable, you were encouraged to keep some frontal hair to camouflage the units if possible. They attached the units with the "braid", meaning they kind of braided the hair together with your own. This sounds okay, but it put stress on your hair (until it could fall out), was painful, and was detectable to the touch.
While all this "early days" stuff sounds awful, the company was a much better deal for the clients back then. You bought 2 systems for $1000 each (yeah HCM got them for pennies), but they lasted 5 years! I would send them back for hair adds a few times a year for a nominal fee. So the only thing I paid for was a service to re-braid the hair $65 every 6 weeks or so.
In the mid 90s, the polyfuse (i.e. glue) became popular, and more undetectable units, but along came the PROGRAMS, where you paid a mortgage payment each month in addition to services. I NEVER WENT ON A PROGRAM. When it became clear the old model would not work any more, I moved on to ordering on line. Now I do everything myself (even cut). I pay literally a few hundred bucks for the entire year ordering on line. Check out www.hairpiecewarehouse.com, the pricing really is unreal.

I'm confused about all the fuss...
i've been a client for 4 years and i'm happy. i don't understand the fuss about "money" or "they keep calling you". when i signed up, you could choose from several different packages - SOME were expensive but mine was not, no one forces you to choose the expense packages. as for calling, yes - the did the same thing to me. i asked them to please stop, and they did. i later made an appt online. people go online to complain, not praise, and it seems like those that do have a certain lack of accountability on their own part - that's my .02 cents.

This is what hair club did to me. my story is that of my own opinion based purely on my own experiences at hair club.hair club has done me and a lots of people as i red in many web sites, a lots of wrong they lied ,cheated their products misrepresented once your trapped they milk you until you explode if you demand refund then they cancel you out... in my opinion this club is a fraudulent club..charges exorbitant amount..now i buy my hair system on line from the same source .same place they buy your wigs but i only pay few hundreds instead of five thousands in year.go on line and you will see that hair club is a rip off nationwide..

This company is very scary, and i never even went to the first appointment or seen a Dr. i just called one time for some free info....well in the call they talked me into a free in office scalp analyses. Something came up and i called and canceled the appointment, days before the appointment day..Anyway they called, and called, and &%#! called to the point that i was then scared to want to go with them. If they were this bad before, i could only imagine if you were late paying or something came up!! Kinda glad i missed that first apt. and gave them the opportunity to show there true colors. I would say DON'T go with them, and if you do go for a consult it sounds like from the other posts, BE READY FOR SOME "HARD CORE" SALES TACTICS!! Used car salesmen style. From what I'm reading Used car salesmen on crack sales style!

I've been a member for 3 years now and have never had a problem with either the product or service. I would suggest HCMW to anyone concerned about their hair loss.

I love Bio-Matrix system. The only thing I'm giving it a 3 star is because its itchy when on the skin from prolonged trituration. Especially when I adduct my legs it gets really itchy, so itchy that I occasionally wonder why in heaven would I agree to that cute "doctor" guy (who's provided phone number is no longer in service btw) to perform a microscopic follicular unit transplants below pelvis. I mean it's almost like outstretched vulvic bristles or somethin' plus that charming doc never gave me a ring blowing his promise. There, I kiss my loved-and-cherished-by-a-doctor dream good bye :(

Went to hairclub to see about options for my hair loss. Basically i was told that once the follicles are gone there is nothing that can really be done... I was then pitched the Matrix - basically a mesh that they weave hair or synthetic into. Basically for about $5000 a year they will style my hair once a week and replace it a few times during the year. At first I was not aware of this but after you are locked the only option is to remove it. You basically have to glue this thing on your head and its not permanent. Ever few days it needs to be fixed hence the maitenance plan. I hate it definately not for me and believe me like everyone else out there if you were told hey this hair piece is gonna cost you basically $1500 and you have to replace it every few months ohhh and by the way you have to glue ot on every few days you would be like forget it. I am so disgusted if it wasn't for the fact they shaved what little hair I had on my head to glue this thing on it would have been gone the first week. I'm basically waiting for my hair to grow back so I don't look like a complete freak. I got the don't worry it wont come off in the wind ...guess what the thing flipping up off your scalp when the glue looses its tackyness is just as bad... I'll update everyone when I goto cancel the membership I'm sure it's not going to be an enjoyable experience just like this whole process.

I WAS a customer of Hair Club for a while. Things were okay at first, almost anyone who saw me could tell the hair was SO FAKE. They started using literally what felt like 'horse hair', could not brush, wash properly, or manage. Complained to the girl I was seeing, she seemed so oblivious with that look of shock on her face, it was so phony, I could see right through it. Every time the contract was coming up, the manager Joe [Oak Brook] suddenly 'appeared' with a contract and pen in hand. Prices jumped signicantly and when I refused to sign based on reading the contract that states that they would 100% human hair, he was SO UPSET and did not understand how human hair was not being used. I ripped that thing off of my head, because it doesn't belong to the customer, it belongs to hair club [and you've paid several thousand dollars to 'rent' it], that claims it throws it away. Again a lie, because every time the agent took the piece off, she placed it in a cabinet, to have it 'refurbished' for the next mark in line. Losing hair is not fun, and it diminishes a lot of one's self-confidence, we don't need money hungry retards like Hair Club and their 'clueless' employees to stick it to us when we are already vulnerable. I hope the cheating Hair Club staff loses their hair and their jobs, so they also can't pay over 450.00 a month to wear horse hair.

I am not personally a client of Hair Club. My sister starting losing her hair a few years ago due to antibiotics she had been taking and ultimately chemotherapy. Hair Club was able to restore her self confidence and her spirit which is something I and my family are extremely grateful for.

I had been experiencing hair loss for a few years, so after a LOT of after research and shopping around, I decided to go Hair Club for Men in August of 2009 for a hair transplant surgery. I had done a lot of searching and checked out the various different options, my brother also having gotten a transplantation surgery from Hair Club, it was a fairly easy choice for me to make. From the very first day I went into Hair Club I was treated very well. Every one in the office seemed very professional & friendly. It has now been a year since my last hair transplant surgery and I am still glad I went to Hair Club. I would recommend Hair Club to anyone who is experiencing hair loss and wants to do something about it. It has certainly done a lot to restore my confidence.

During a 4 month period I personally visited three Hair Restoration Clinic's in my area... Being a owner of a in home service company it was important to me that not only the hair restoration product be good, but that the customer service was personable and private. At age 40 in 2001, I chose Hair Club for Men and I have never had a complaint about the quality of my hair and the service that I have received since becoming a client. All questions and concerns have always been promptly addressed.
After 9 years of looking and feeling great about having my hair back while utilizing the bio-matrix system, I started researching Hair Transplantation. Once again I chose Hair Club for Men due to they were the only one that had their own network of hair transplant physicians and only performed Microscopic Follicular Unit Transplants... Which is the most modern procedure to date. Hair Club physicians also give a satisfaction guarantee and are dedicated to the same superior service and results that I have received from my Hair Club center.
I have personally met the Physician that will be performing my hair transplant in the fall of 2010. He has been doing transplants since 1984 and since 1991 that's all he's done... Now that's experience. Since seeing is believing; I have spoken to and have visually seen in person 3 hair transplant clients of Hair Club from Indiana and Florida. Age's ranged from 28 to 72 years old. The 72 year old had the procedure done 15 months earlier and had a strong full head of hair. His results and happiness, along with my year's of being a very satisfied client with Hair Club for Men was enough for me to take this next big step in getting my own hair back for good.
I have also seen Hair Club's heart in giving to children effected with Alopecia- the total loss of hair. I was privileged to meet several children and watch the stylist and yes even corporate personnel interact with them... To see those children's faces light up when their hair was applied and the friendship connection between them and the stylist was absolutely heart warming... Way to go Hair Club.
I know I have said a lot.... But after 30 years of doing customer service, I can honestly say I have never been so satisfied with a company that was dealing with such a personal matter as my baldness.

For a few years I have been experiencing hair loss. So finally after much research and shopping around, I went to Hair Club in Sept. 2010 and got a hair transplant. Like I said, I checked out all the different options and Hair Club was an easy choice to make. From the first day I walked into Hair Club I was treated great. The secretary's to the stylist are top-notch and very professional. Ten months have past since my hair transplant and I am so glad I went to Hair Club. I recommend Hair Club to anyone and everyone who is experiencing hair loss. Has been a great experience!

Hair Club was a horrible experience. They used unethical methods of pressure and love to tell you how unattractive you are unless you have their product. In my case, I went to support my brother and his financing was not approved. They then went to sell me a product that I was not very interested in but actually pulled me into another room and told me that it was crucial for my brothers self esteem to make this procedure possible. They ensured me that we were not going to be wearing wigs but when my brother had his hair put on, it was nothing but a wig. He left after his appointment to go to work and the next morning, he and I both showed up before they even opened so he could get his new wig removed. When they did so, I told them that I did not want a wig and to cancel my appointment. For 3 hours they used bullying tactics to try to force us to use their product. They refused to even refund half of my brothers initial $2,200.00 and lied to me about the way that this was being financed. He was supposed to pay $500.00 down and without telling me, a backroom deal was made so he didn't pay it. Being the one on the financing, you would think that I would have a right to know this. This company is a scam that prays off of the weak minded people of this country and even if you had great self worth, confidence, and self esteem, it seems that their job is to make you feel otherwise. I do not recommend anyone to use this company, and will be taking them to court.
