We were referred to Bill at Sunset Pools by my co-worker who used Bill's group to fix a prior contractor's mess. My co-worker loved the end result and so did my wife and I. We hired Bill after seeing his finished work and due to his reputation.
Bill completed our pool as promised, on budget, and as designed. I consider a pool install or complete remodel to be a major project. Bill's group followed up and promptly took care of all our design issues. Bill was also onsite during all major construction milestones. During the year since our pool has been completed, Bill helped us upgrade equipment and teach us how to maintain our own pool without the use of a "pool guy."
When dealing with contractors who have been in business as long as Bill's family have, there will always be unsatisfied customers that can't be consoled = after reading the previous unfavorable comment. I would use Bill's group again and I would gladly refer him to my friends and family - which we have. I also suggest you see Bill’s finished work (or any contractor's finished work) before hiring or signing.
His contractor’s license number is 473735. His bonding history appears to have no lapse that I can see from the CA Contractors website.
I can't say enough about Bill and his group. We are clearly one of many satisfied customers.

I had a very positive experience with Bill and his company. They replaced all our plumbing and electric for our pool. The work was done professionally, clean, fast and most importantly on time.
I would highly recommend them!
I must comment on the plumber/electrician Jens Hande, he is truly a professional at his work. He advised me of some very dangerous electrical problems that I did not know about and corrected them. A very honest man.

We were very happy with the results of our pool project. Bill and his crew were always on time and finished within our budget. He also answered follow up calls about using the salt system and taught my husband how to maintain the pool himself without a pool man. I think he is a good representative of Sunset Pools and tries hard to please his customers. I will continue to recommend him to friends and neighbors looking to add/change their pools or spas.

Sunset Pools is a terrible company to work with. We built our new pool with them and later 3 months later when our tile started cracking we couldn't get Sunset Pools (Bill :owner and president) to fix our pool. We tried for over a year to get them to fix it with no luck. We finally had to have a attorney and seek court judgement to get them to fix our pool. This company doesn't stand by there warranty! They will build your pool and then VANISH! The pool was beautiful, but if and when you have a problem they will not fix it. He is not the trust worthy person represents his company as being "family business". Maybe was a great business when his FATHER owned the company! We found out later by having a attorney they had 2 other complaints against them and law suits. This is fact and can be backed up by documentation. Check to see if they still have their bond insurance??????? It was canceled due to the 3 lawsuits (including ours).
Poor choice of company to go with!
