I was just recently solicited by Premiere Legal Advocates. I used HUD in the past but Hud simply sent the info to my loan company, but my loan company still wanted additional information. So HUD will not do anything else??? Is Hud required by law to do anything further???

Dennis,

Here's the BBB report with an F rating:
http://www.la.bbb.org/Business-Report/Premier-Legal-Advocates-100088661

You should know that it's illegal for any company to charge in advance for loan modification services. They can't collect money until the service is performed. It's also illegal to break up the contract into separate components, collecting for each after it's performed. This law also applies to attorneys who mainly do loan modifications, though I don't think this company is actually a law firm.

These companies make big claims of success but the truth is your chances of getting a modification are just as good with a HUD approved housing counselor, and their services are free. Here's the number for a referral: 888-995-4673.
