I GO TO YARD SALES. EVERY YARD SALE I GO TO THE STUFF THEIR
SELLING IS NEW MERCHANDISE NEVER OPEN OR USE.THE MERCHADISE IS
FROM CLEARANCES FROM TARGET, WALMART, KOLHS, 99CENTS, ETC.THIS
IS NOT FAIR.THEY RAISE THEIR PRICES $5-$10 IS THIS LEGAL??
AND WHEN YOU LOOK IN THE GARAGE THEY HAVE RACKS LIKE A STORE.
AND THEIR SELLING UNOPEN AND NOT OUTDATED MERCHANDISE.
SO ARE THEY LICENSE TO WORK FROM HOME? WHY DOESN'T ANYONE FROM THE CITIES CHECK UP ON THEM? BEING DISGUISE WOULD HELP.SOMETHING IS WRONG!LIKE THEY SAY SOMEONE ELSES TRASH IS MY TREASURES BUT NOT IF I HAVE TO PAY STORE PRICES?
I LIKE THE OLD YARD SALES,CLEAN THE GARAGE AND HOME.PAY 25 CENTS
FOR DISNEY CUP.I WANTED TO GET A BAG OF BOWS $1 SHE SAID .I PUT
THEM BACK CUZ I WILL GO TO THE 99 CENTS STORE.THE LADY CAME BACK
AND SAID YOU CAN HAVE THE BAG FOR .75 CENTS CUZ I KNOW YOU CAN GET THEM FOR .99CENTS. IS THIS LEGAL ????????WHAT NEXT PAYING TAXES ON THE STUFF? IM HERE IN CALIF,

Once the items are LEGALLY PURCHAED !! They can then re sell them for what ever the market will tolerate .. I think it is called capitalism .. But any way as the last person MANY cities have ordinances that prohibit ON GOING RETAIL BUSINESS BEING OPERATED OUT OF YOUR HOME OR GARAGE. Check it out

I guess garage sales have changed! I fondly remember an iron skillet I got years ago at a garage sale that cost, I think, only 1 dollar.

If they are selling stuff every weekend out of their garage they may be in violation of the law. A lot of cities have "garage sales" regulations that limit the number of sales somebody can have per year, etc. Call your local city government and see what your local ordinance is. If you live in an unincorporated area you would have to call the County gov't. You may be able to file a complaint online.

...But, perhaps the seller will bargain with you!

I wouldn't hold your breath for local code enforcement to show up - from what I hear the budget disaster in CA is curtailing these services for some municipalities.
