The supplemental insurance sold through places like Best Buy and other retailers can be difficult to get reimbursed from. Best Buy offers these insurance programs for purchase but my understanding is they are usually through a 3rd party. Read the full terms of the insurance policy to make sure water hazards are covered and if so, perhaps you can try dealing directly with the insurance company that covers the policy.

If you paid by credit card there may be automatic warranty protection included as a card benefit. Perhaps there would be coverage under your hommeowner's or renter's insurance. Lastly, perhaps you should file a complaint with the BBB.

Good luck>

p.s. you're not keeping the computer on the floor with a puppy in the house are you?!
