Hotel Timeshare Resales is a reputable brokerage with a long history in the industry. The broker and co-owner is a gentleman by the name of Tom Pickford. His wife, Joan, manages the office. If you are buying or selling through them- just be sure to fully review all your documents and to ensure that the closing and escrow are being handled by a true third party closing agent that is properly licensed in the state where the timeshare in question is located. Generally, the best advice for anyone considering working with a timeshare resale company is to simply refuse to pay any type of upfront fee or advance fee to sell or rent an unwanted timeshare week.. You can learn more about ways to avoid the secondary market for timeshares and ways to avoid timeshare related scams at the following links: http://www.vacation-times.org(Free timeshare magazine) http://www.timeshareforums.com(a free social network site where timeshare owners share strategies and experiences.. You will find example after example of people being taken by upfront fee scams.) http://www.tugbbs.com (the largest timeshare bulletin board on the web) Take the time to do a little research before making any decision and you may find that you've saved yourself both thousands of dollars as well as plenty of frustration and disappointment.

The answer credited to me above was not entered in response to this question. That response was for a different question about another company.. Unfortunately, many of my posts seem to have been shuffled so that they now show up under the wrong questions.. I assume this is just a technical problem. Hotel Timeshare Resales is a respected brokerage with a long history in the resale industry. They do not charge any type of upfront fee, and only earn a commission at closing. If you look at the link below- you'll find my original post.. http://www.trustlink.org/Ask-The-Community/Question/Scams/Advocate-law-groups-4848
