"HireRight"? More like HIREWRONG. I've had background checks done on my for prior jobs but this is the first time I've dealt with HireWRONG and they are no doubt the WORST background check company EVER. HireWRONG clearly is a selfish company with no regards to professionalism and wants everything spoon fed to them. They must be dirt cheap, which is the only reason why a company would want to use their lazy, half-assed services. First, when I was filling out my information on their website, I encountered a few bugs. I couldn't delete certain things and some of their directions/dropdown choices contradicted each other. I got the feeling that the website wasn't put together by native English speakers. SURE ENOUGH when I called their customer service line (several times) their reps all had accents. I have no problem talking to people from other countries from but HireWRONG should at least have the decency to screen these people to make sure they can communicate properly, which not only entails having understandable English but also proper manners and a BRAIN. Every rep I spoke with sounded extremely lazy, was borderline unhelpful, showed no empathy, and I am sorry to say did not show much intelligence; they didn't even make an effort to help me and I literally had tell them what to do half the time. It's like HireWRONG found all the dumbest people in the world and brought them on as customer service representatives. One rep I spoke to the nerve to yawn loudly during our phone call. Another rep misconstrued my words in our phone call notes and wrote completely different notes. For the background check, they called an old manager of mine to confirm employment and was VERY rude to them. My old manager said the HireWRONG caller was from India with a very thick accent and their call proceeded like a short interrogation. Without explaining who he was or what company he was calling on behalf of, the caller asked my old manager if they knew me, if I worked for them before, and other work related questions. Afterwards, he just cut the phone call without even a thanks/ goodbye or explanation of who he was. Extremely rude if you ask me and a reflection of HireWRONG's disregard for common decency and respect. Their service is SLOW and they're terrible at getting back to you on anything. I had to call in every day to get updates on my background check. Any company that associates themselves with HireWRONG is questionable now to me. This was THE MOST annoying and unpleasant background check I've ever done. I hope any company that doesn't want to lose the faith and respect of their employees will never consider using HireWRONG to background check their candidates.
