From my experience, they’re more of a complement than a replacement. Real human connections bring in emotions, body language, and shared experiences that AI simply can’t mimic. That said, an AI can still provide emotional comfort when you need someone to “listen” or help you unwind after a stressful day. I’ve been using

I see it as two different things. One is about companionship that’s always available and adapts to your mood, while the other is about the messy, unpredictable side of human life. Both can be valuable in their own way. I don’t think one cancels out the other — it’s more like having two different sources of comfort, depending on what you’re looking for at the moment.
