Check in the mail from Global Test Market
|
9/22/2010 6:19 AM (PST)
I have received a substantial check in the mail from Global Test Market. I am supposed to deposit this check in my checking account after calling them to activate the funds. Then I am supposed to make a Western Union or Moneygram transaction and rate the customer service. They have included funds for the transaction (2980.00) and a $200.00 payment to me, along with another task involving Walmart.
I would love to think this is legitimate, as the pay for doing these tasks is pretty good and would supplement my income well. However, I don't want to risk anything by depositing this check and finding out it's a scam.
The check is written from Cannon F.C.U.
PO Box 2080
Clovis, NM 88102
The company address on the letter is Global Test Market
1100 112th Av 1351
Washington Blvd
Suite 5000
Stamford, CT 06902
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jennifer,
I get many such checks in the mail. These checks are not real and the purpose is to cheat you out of your hard earned money. Be especially careful if you are asked for any personal information as this is a way to steal your identity. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER follow the instructions or deposit the check into your bank account.
