Hi! I heard that there are chemical repellents to scare off snakes. Did anyone use them on the plot? How effective and safe are they for children and pets? Which forms are better - granules, sprays or aerosols? And how often should they be used to maintain protection? I want to understand whether it is worth spending money on chemicals or better to use only natural methods such as plants and oils.

Chemical repellents help, especially if there are many snakes. The main active ingredients - naphthalene and sulfur, which create a nasty smell for snakes. There are granules, sprays and aerosols, can be used at the borders of the plot, near garages and garden paths. The main thing - carefully read instructions and use in places inaccessible to children and pets. Combine with natural methods and cleaning the plot. It is important to remember that chemicals are only part of the protection. They are effective for a certain time and when used correctly, but do not solve the problem completely on their own. Cleaning the garden, control rodents, cutting shrubs and laying stones - all this also reduces the likelihood of snakes. It is better to use a complex approach: combine the order on the plot, physical barriers and repellents.
