Installation generally begins with designing and excavating the pond to the required dimensions and slopes. The surface should then be carefully prepared by removing sharp stones, roots, debris, and other objects that could damage the membrane. Where required, a suitable protective geotextile layer can be installed beneath the liner. The HDPE membrane is then positioned over the prepared surface with appropriate allowances for seams, edges, and anchoring. Individual panels are commonly joined using specialized heat-welding equipment to create secure seams.
