How did you prepare for the Rajasthan Judicial Service (RJS) examination, and what study strategy, resources, Bare Act reading, previous-year papers, mock tests, answer-writing practice, revision techniques, and guidance did you follow to improve your chances of clearing the Prelims and Mains stages? Is judiciary coaching necessary for RJS preparation, or can a candidate crack the exam successfully through self-study with the right preparation strategy?

RJS Exam Preparation Strategy: How to Prepare for RJS
To prepare for the Rajasthan Judicial Service (RJS) exam, one cannot simply read law books. A pragmatic RJS preparation approach is required for aspirants which include conceptual clarity, Bare Act reading, regular revision, practice of questions and time management. There are a number of stages to the examination so you will have to plan your preparation accordingly.
Know the RJS Exam Requirements
The first and foremost step for Rajasthan Judiciary preparation is to understand the syllabus and examination pattern. Candidates should be aware of the subjects covered in the examination and be able to divide them into manageable sections. This will help to avoid confusion. This also helps aspirants to know their progress.
A good preparation plan should cover important legal subjects, procedural laws, Rajasthan-specific laws, current legal developments, and language-related preparation where applicable.
Bare Acts and Legal Concepts
Bare Acts are an integral part of judiciary preparation. Rather than relying solely on summaries or notes provided by coaching centers, the candidate must ensure that he/she reads the relevant statutory provision on a regular basis. Definitions, sections, exceptions, explanations, and important provisions help in improving both objective and descriptive preparation.
However, the candidate must also develop concept clarity. Mere learning of sections might not suffice if application of legal concepts is required in the question.
Solve Previous Year Questions
The previous year question papers will help candidates know about the type of questions and areas that generally repeat themselves. Solving them consistently will also help candidates improve on their speed and become acquainted with the format of the examination.
It is not only important for the candidates to solve the questions but also analyze their mistakes. Maintaining a notebook for mistakes will help them a lot.
Prepare Differently for Prelims and Mains
An effective RJS preparation strategy should give separate attention to Prelims and Mains.
For Prelims, candidates should focus on objective questions, factual accuracy, Bare Acts, revision, and mock tests. For Mains, greater attention should be given to legal reasoning, structured answers, judgment writing, essays, and presentation.
Regular answer-writing practice is particularly useful because knowing the law and presenting it effectively in a written examination are different skills.
Structured Guidance Should Be Considered
Self-study definitely should form part of RJS preparation. But there may be certain candidates who will face challenges while developing a proper time table, choosing study materials, evaluating themselves, etc.
Here, structured guidance from RJS coaching can add value in the form of classes, tests, answer writing evaluation, doubt clearing, etc. Rajasthali Law Institute itself talks about structured preparation, testing, answer
