Selecting the right PE Film requires careful consideration of the product, application, environmental conditions, handling process, and expected service life. The first factor is the type of polyethylene. LDPE may be preferred where flexibility and sealing performance are important, LDPE where toughness and puncture resistance are required, and HDPE where greater stiffness and strength are desirable. Film thickness should be selected according to the level of protection required. Thin films can reduce material consumption and packaging weight, while thicker films may be necessary for heavy-duty applications or products with sharp edges. Film width should match the product dimensions and packaging or covering equipment to ensure efficient application. Tensile strength, elongation, puncture resistance, and tear resistance should be evaluated according to expected handling conditions. For outdoor agricultural applications, UV stabilization is especially important because prolonged sunlight exposure can degrade untreated polyethylene. Transparency, opacity, or color should be selected according to the product and intended visual requirements.
