Installation begins with preparing a stable, compacted, and reasonably smooth subgrade that is free from sharp rocks, roots, debris, and other objects that could puncture the liner. Depending on the soil and site conditions, a protective geotextile or suitable cushioning layer may be placed beneath the RPE liner. The liner panels are then positioned according to the pond layout, with adequate material provided for slopes, overlaps, seams, and edge anchoring. Sections are joined using an appropriate method recommended for the specific RPE system, with seams inspected for continuity and defects. The edges are commonly secured using an anchor trench or another suitable anchoring arrangement. Careful installation, inspection, and controlled filling can help minimize stress on the liner and support reliable long-term containment.
