I’m curious about the role of statistics outside the most popular sports. Football and basketball seem to have endless amounts of publicly available data, but what about less widely followed competitions? Can someone realistically make an informed assessment when there is much less historical information available, or is it better to avoid events where reliable statistics are difficult to find?
