Selecting the correct TPU Film requires a detailed evaluation of the product's intended environment and performance requirements. The first consideration should be the TPU chemistry and grade. Polyester-based and polyether-based TPU films can have different resistance characteristics, so the correct type should be selected according to humidity, hydrolysis exposure, chemicals, mechanical loading, and expected service conditions. Film thickness is another important factor. Thin films may be appropriate for lightweight textile lamination or flexible products, while thicker films may be required where higher mechanical protection or durability is needed. Hardness should also be considered because softer TPU films provide greater flexibility and a softer feel, whereas harder grades may provide increased stiffness and abrasion resistance. Transparency, color, gloss, matte finish, and surface texture should be selected according to the desired appearance. Elasticity and elongation are important when the film needs to stretch or flex repeatedly. Tensile strength and tear resistance should be evaluated according to the mechanical forces expected during use.
