I represent U.S. Safety in Lenexa, KS (since 1935), and I want to assure you we have no connection or affiliation with "U.S. Safety, Inc." in Van Nuys, CA. We do not, and have never charged any fees to job applicants. We have received several phone calls from people asking about this, so I am making every effort to eliminate the confusion out there. I hope this gets cleared up soon.

I work for U.S. Safety inc and we are not trying to affiliate ourselves with any one just to make that clear. I paid that 75 dollar fee and I am in training right now to be a manager, and I have seen other people that were hired before me becoming managers now too and getting their offices. And yes We do sell fire safety equipment i do it everyday. Just because they are asking for you to trust them with your 75 dollars doesn't mean they are scamming anyone. So before you jump to conclusions without finding out for yourself its a good idea to not say anything. Because all it means is that your a negative and sceptical person who is afraid to take chances. thanks<3 p.s. talking to Bill M.

I bet you are their number one sales guru and office manager. Lol. I'm sure you are not a bad person. Would you like to cuddle and make up? My real name can be found if you go to my link and actually become computer literate <3

Bill M, Who are you to say that this company is a scam? What research have you done? How can you call a company that teaches FIRE SAFETY and FIRE PREVENTION to residential homes and commercial buildings a scam? California has fires every year and people need this education. There are multiple fires everyday in the United States. How is it that a school can evacuate 3000 students, but a family of 5 can't evacuate a home during a fire? So you might want to do some more research before blasting a company. I used to work for a security company that made me pay for my Guard Card and had to put a deposit down on my uniforms? How is that different than putting a deposit for Fire Safety Equipment? Insurance companies make you get your insurance license before you can start as well and they charge approx $500 for that, at least the ones I looked into. I have purchased Fire Extinguishers and Smoke Alarms from this company and my home is now 10x more safe than it was two months ago. Maybe someone should perform a FREE Home Fire Safety Survey on your house to see if you are prepared for a Fire. Good luck with your JOB!

Hello Brandy,

You said you are currently training at the company right now- I am supposed to interview there tomorrow... But I am attempting to do my research because quite frankly- the $75 fee does sound a bit sketchy and I don't know that I am comfortable paying it. Their website is "under construction" at the moment, and all other web info point to a non-affiliated US Safety company on the west coast? Since you are an employee, can you post some details? Demographics? something to help us "investigate" and make us "believers" that this is a safe place to interview and be employed by? It's though times out there and I can't afford to loose a weeks worth of groceries over some scam... Thanks.

I was able to find the website for US Safety, Inc. It is www.ussafetyinc.net. I found a lot of valuable information there about this company. You should check it out. I have had a very valuable experience with this company and would recommend them to everyone I know.

Strong Minded and Brandy B. You guys obviously are paid by U.S. Safety to say these things. If a company is really doing well they wouldn't have people paying them to get a job there. I called for the interview with Cynthia and was waiting in a room with like 10 other people. We watched a video and basically sold the idea of working there. We had a private 5 minute interview, which we all were rushed through. Lisa was interviewing me and had the contract face up telling me to sign quickly and hurry to write the check and didn't enclose all the details of how much I really would be getting paid and whether or not I was selling indoors or out. This place is a scam. They said that they are nation wide but on the website it only shows the van nuys office. They said 20 years in business but here on the BBB its only reported to be open since Aug. Of last year! This office was empty and they probably are on a month to month lease so when they get caught they can leave! The back of the contract I signed stated that I would be an independent contractor! I didn't agree to that, I was under the impression that I would be training to be an "OFFICE MANAGER" not be going door to door selling fire extinguishers and crap! This place is a scam because of the fact that they are not open and honest about what exactly you'll be doing, how much you are paid, and having to pay $75 for a background check? Background checks should be paid to a police station and have fingerprints done. Or they could be done online for a lot cheaper. This place is a SCAM. I really don't care about what all you scamers think of this company. They are fake and I will do everything in my power to put them out of business!!!!! Do your research people! And stop being oblivious to their B.S.!

Nicole A. I am not paid to say these things at all. i actually really like what this company is doing and i read that contract before i signed i realized that it said you are an independent contractor. if you didn't know what that meant you don't sign it. you could have asked questions about the contract just as i did. nobody forced your hand to do so. the office isn't empty at all there is a conference table and a back office you might not have seen that has a break room with a fridge and coffee maker and a bunch of stuff. you would have been an office manager if you had stuck to it. The whole point of selling the product is because you can't be a manager of sales people if you don't know how to sell it yourself. If you can't understand that then it's a good thing you didn't stick with it. Nobody was forcing you to sell anything or even do the job. You sell because how the company makes money is by offering fire safety products to the public. So you obviously need to know the products and how to teach the people you manage how to do that. I'm sorry you don't like the job you decided to do but that's no reason to bash the company just because you can't do it.

If this company was a legitimate business, open and honest. They would NEVER rush people to sign a BOGUS background check paper, which in reality has a small print at the back saying that they expect these poor sods to do door-to-door sales! And moreover, charge $75 for "so called" background check-up, which in reality is non-refundable registration fee. Office manager never even called my references. I'm honestly scared for all the personal information I gave them. Somehow, I going to get it back and most likely visit a police station tomorrow at least to see what can I do to protect my identity.

Oh my goodness!! This business is still around. This is absolutely a scam. I applied years ago. They sit you around a table with a group of people. It is a group interview type setting where you all sit together. Then they show you the items you'll be selling to your friends and family. They collect 75 dollars from you(which you can not get back, I know...because I tried). They say it's for the materials they give you to show samples of the items you'll be selling. I told them I did not want to sell fire safety equipment to my friends and family, and they said they couldn't return me my money. I decided to return every item they gave me because I did not believe in their company methods and tactics. Good people are looking for good jobs, please guys I urge you to find another place. Please be careful and good luck friends.
