I’ve been thinking of taking my next assignment in Texas. I’ve heard mixed reviews — some say it’s a great market with solid pay and friendly teams, while others mention long hours and high patient ratios. For those who’ve actually worked there, what’s your experience been like? Are the hospitals supportive of travel nurses, or do they treat you like temporary help?

Texas is one of the busiest travel nurse destinations in the country. There’s a wide variety of hospital systems, and most treat travelers with respect because they truly need the help. Pay tends to be competitive, especially in cities like Dallas and Austin. You can explore listings directly here: https://tlcnursing.com/search-travel-jobs/search-jobs-in-texas/ — TLC Nursing updates their Texas openings frequently, and many come with housing stipends.

That’s reassuring to hear. I’ve always wanted to experience living in Texas, and the high demand sounds promising. I’ll check out those listings — maybe I’ll find something that fits my specialty. Having agency support with housing and paperwork definitely makes the move easier, especially when relocating out of state.
