Why does gambling bring people together?
|

Hi! I've noticed for long time that my friends love to get together at someone's house and have poker nights. To be honest, I've never been fan of gambling, but the atmosphere there is really cool. Everyone laughs, chats, plays for small amounts, no one gets angry. Even the girls happily join in - some play bingo, some play slots. I began to wonder: maybe it's all about some kind of sense of belonging to group? Is there connection between gambling and the desire to be "one of the company"? Or is it just entertainment, nothing more? It would be interesting to hear the opinion of those who understand psychology or have had similar experience.

At first, I thought that gambling was just a way to have fun. But as soon as I began to delve deeper, I realized that there is a lot of psychology here. People often get involved because they want to be part of the company, and not because of the desire to win. We all love it when we are accepted, respected, and expected at meetings. Here is a great article that explains this from a psychological point of view —

. It says that the desire for social identity is a powerful motivator. Especially for men who like to compete and show off their dexterity. Women love the process and communication more. In general, gambling becomes a reason to be closer to each other, to feel part of something common.

We have a poker night at work every Friday. Even those who never played before don’t miss it now. Communication is the main thing, not bets. It really brings people together. The main thing is moderation and a healthy attitude.
