need help recovering money from a scam or fraud
|
4/26/2010 3:48 PM (PST)
I have made a purchase with a company TCS Foreclosures which was the biggest mistake of my life. I invested $7500 with a money back guarantee after 6 months and I foolishly believed I WOULD GET THE MONEY BACK GUARANTEE that was in my contract. If anyone could give some advice on how to go about getting your money back from a scam. I can hire a lawyer but there is no guarantee I would win and that would cost me almost as much as the money i'm trying to recover. I don't have alot of money to try to fight these guys. That $7500 was all my savings and I THOUGHT i'd be ok with the guarantee, however that is not the case. They are not returning my calls and are ignoring me. I've contacted the BBB, FTC, state attorney general and even the FBI. WHAT DO YOU DO IN THIS SITUATION. Or do these criminals just get away with stealing hard working people's money.
Thanks, Adam

Adam,
It sounds like your going in the right direction with this company by contacting all the appropriate agencies but for immediate results, you may need to proceed to court.
I understand your postion however when the real estate industry fell through, several companies such as this preyed on consumers by making guarantees that could not be fulfilled. Hence the laws changing effective October 11, 2009 advising advance fees cannot be requested upfront for loan modications.
Follow up with the FTC and CA AG office.
