My advice is to focus on setting up a daily routine where they don't have to face the kitchen chores alone. Just having some household assistance with prepping ingredients or doing the dishes can change everything. I actually bookmarked this page a while ago for my own family planning, it has more details about light cleaning and how these small daily helps work: https://goodhandshomecarellc.com/home-care-services/light-housekeeping. Once you take the chore burden off their shoulders, they actually start enjoying meals again.

I agree with alsex p. Taking the weight of chores off their shoulders makes a world of difference! Another thing that really works is keeping meals a social activity. “When you cook together as a family, or even just sit down to eat together, it changes the whole atmosphere. Dining alone can be lonely, and seniors often lose their appetite for that reason alone. Regular family meals or even just having someone over to talk over a meal can bring back the joy of food and get them to eat much healthier.
