Why don't you tell them the truth, Jared? Tell them how you have people invest all of this money when they are not guaranteed a job. tell them how much they really have to pay for classes and then Arise cancels the classes takes your money and then only will give you a voucher for another class when meanwhile who knows when other classes will become available. Why don't you tell them about the mass layoffs from 2 of your largest clients in the past few days. Tell them how Arise gives no warning if they just decide to end your contract at a moments notice. Tell them for days how many people have not been able to log into work and have not even received any termination notification and then go to Arise's NON RESOLUTION CENTER where no one knows what's going on there either, for days! Now today finally after days of not being able to work large amounts of agenst are being terminated for no reason. TELL YOUR AGENTS AND OTHER POTENTIAL AGENTS THE TRUTH!

Work at home schemes are one of the top scam businesses on the planet. Are they asking you to front any money - any money at all? Don't do that - it's always a red flag that you are dealing with a scam. Is there some free trial offer?

Also, don't give them any personally identifiable information about yourself.

thank you for your reply.
I haven't been called back yet--but have read blogs on the Better Business Bureau website that they get $200 up front for "training".
I am going to stear clear of Arise-- another scam. One informative blog mentioned a reputable company called West at Home--but here are no openings listed for California. On the West at Home website they say they pay you during your training period. This also is very hard to believe.
I am going to confine my job hunting to "brick & Mortor" businesses--"companies" on the internet can just disappear.

Hi J.N. And D,

I am Jared Fletcher from Arise Virtual Solutions. I just saw your conversation and wanted to chime in. We often get asked about work-at-home scams, and it’s frustrating because legitimate “homeshore” opportunities like ours can take longer to fill because of the confusion. In fact, the St. Paul Pioneer Press ( http://www.twincities.com/topstories/ci_13631151?nclick_check=1) just did a story on this issue, and they pointed to Arise as one of the legitimate companies.

It is true, there are start-up costs associated with becoming a homeshore worker. With our company, start up costs run between $100-$400 which includes setting up your own company (which then contracts with a company like Arise) as well as background, basic certification course, and client certification course. As of our latest count, there are thousands people who have gone through this process and are delighted with their ability to earn $10-$15/hour, choose their own hours, and save money and time by not having a commute. Good Morning America ( http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=5524847 ) and The Sun ( http://www.arise.com/lower.php?url=arise-in-the-news&article=jobs-with-flexible-hours ) have done stories featuring Arise where they explain how legitimate homeshoring works.

I hope this answers your concerns. We would be happy to speak with you further by phone/email, or even connect with one of our Arise Certified Professionals who went through the process if you’d like more information.

Best regards,

Jared

JD- I call upon YOU to tell the truth! There are so many inaccuracies within your post, I am not sure where to begin!

Arise makes NO secret of their business model- it in on their site plain as day. NO ACP has a ‘job’ with Arise; we are all independent contactors…. We WORK for what we get and are guaranteed nothing! If you need the security of a guarantee, then Arise is NOT for you. As a mater of fact, I am not sure what company would be able to provide that.

Arise does not just cancel classes for no reason- this does not happen with ANY frequency and when it has happened to me the one time, Arise made it right. Arise does NOT terminate SOWs without cause! IF you are doing what you are supposed to be doing, then you will have nothing to worry about. Those ACPs that pirate hours, sign in late, log off early and provide poor customer service are the only ones to have cause to worry.

Arise has had NO mass layoffs; you are wrong yet again. We are not employees… we are IC’s… want to keep your contact? DO YOUR WORK!

I have been an ACP for years and have noticed several things…. The first being those who do below the bare minimum will not be successful with Arise. Those that do not make the best use of their time and resources (i.e. READ the website) are the first to complain when they do not get heir way. Second, as an agent with Arise you get paid for the work you do… nothing more nothing less. If you want o earn more, you need to be more productive…. But coming to boards like this to slam a company and call out people you do not know with bogus claims and accusations is easier, isn’t it?

If Arise is so horrible, then why do they have an A+ BBB rating? Why were they invited to join the White House Job Summit last December? Why are they featured in numerous prestigious publications that discuss working at home? Why has Good Morning America featured them numerous times?

Could it be that you are not correct in your claims, JD? I think that is the case here.

Working at home is still WORK. Do not forget that.

Jos G I have worked with Arise for the last three years. I have never had a problem with them, and needless to say I have made good money that I was able to quit my regular job as a supervisor. Guys keep in mind that with this company you are an independent contractor. As with all businesses you do have to invest in it. All the fees paid for training is called the cost of doing business and therefore can be treated as a tax expense. Let me make this clear I have no vested interest in this company. To slam the company as scam is going over-board. http://homeshoringmadeeasy@blogspot.com

Arise is good company... it is just not good for everyone. I earn a good living as an Arise agent. I found Arise six months after getting laid off and I am so thankful I did! I was able to avoid a pending foreclousre. I am able to pay my bills. I am able to volunteer at my daughter's school in the Dad's Club. I am able to do more around the house (my wife loves that).

I am more content now than I ever was at a traditional office. I think many agents feel this way as well. They just do not post comments as they are too busy working :-),

I have worked for Arise since 08 and they are not a scam. Yes it can be expensive starting up because your an IC not an employee so you do pay for training and it's unpaid. They have many well known companies and you make your own schedule. I work the major cruise line client and I love it! I have also worked for the home improvement store for chat and really liked it. Arise does have pros and cons just like everything else but for me I enjoy it.

I will be honest and say this. I have been having several technical issues with their "SDE". I have contacted technical support several times and have not gotten any help..I have contacted who I was told to contact, it's been 3 days and I still haven't gotten any answers..I am not happy with their service,,several hours put into their work but no help afterward. Very disappointed. Maynot be a scam, but I wouldn't suggest them to anyone!

I've been with Arise for over two years now on a part-time basis. This is the worst company I have ever experienced. They have absolutely no interest in the agents ACP or aka IBO Partners. Its impossible to talk to a real person when you really need one and their tech support is a total joke. All they care about is getting you to enroll in a course so they can collect your money. Their training is a total joke and the instructors are the same. Arise tracks your metrics and holds you accountable for sales and performance however when you ask them to back up their own numbers they cannot do it and they will ignore your requests! Their metrics are very unreliable and they even admit it! When the Agent's metrics are low then they hold you hostage and they severally restrict you from posting any reasonable hours. They require you to pay for initial training, attend regular ongoing training sessions and group meetings while not paying you to do so. If you post questions or issue about service problems they can take literally weeks to answer you back IF they answer you back at all. They charge you a $20 service fee every two weeks. Why because they can! They send out countless information emails and then absolutely refuse to reply back to your inquiries or questions about their emails. Bottom line here is, they don't care about you as an agent. You are just a number and you are considered a dime a dozen to them. They would just assume cancel your SOW and get 20 more people that will pay them to process and train them. Their SOW's are so well insulated from any type of recourse its pathetic. An attorney would cry if he/she were to read this one sided contract. All the rights and benefits of the contract are pointed only to Arise and ACP Agent BEWARE! They hide behind the benefits of providing you a work at home benefit and you will end up paying dearly for that benefit not only in the long term but also the short. After all is said and done you will actually make less then minimum wage. Make no mistake, this relationship is certainly not a two way street. The ACP agent is getting shafted in so many ways its pathetic. I can't wait to communicate with clients like "Apple" on how Arise actually treats their Agents and conducts business on a day to day basis. I'm sure Apple would not want to have anything to do with this type of behavior. I for one am done with Arise and I'm getting on board with the class action lawsuit that is in the process of being settled between Arise and Apple.
