Just go ahead and make a local listing with your pictures. I usually get calls from locals that will usually have a conversation over the phone with you first. You should use this opportunity to address any concerns you may have and get a feel for your potential customer. Hope this helps Heather.

I sold couple things on Craigslist before and it was fast and easy but you just need to be real careful. My suggestion is to meet the buyer outside in public at Starbucks or something. If your item is too big to carry out and buyer must be at your house then make sure you have another person etc...
Always ask for cash only and ask buyer to bring exact change. I had incident when I sold for $60 but when the buyer came she told me she only had $40 left, and it forced me to agree with her since she already there and too hassle to go back and forth.
Just be firm on the phone and say no NEGOTIATION.
Good people will make the transaction pretty easy. Good Luck.

Try EBAY! I sell a lot of stuff and if the items are to big to mail than I list my item as pick up only!
