Family Vacation to Costa Rica
|
We just returned from a fabulous trip to Costa Rica. It was a family trip to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday. We wanted to visit Arenal Volcano, Monteverde, and end our trip with a visit to an all inclusive in the Guanacaste region. Normally, I book all of our travel myself, but this time decided to seek the help of a travel agent. We went with Costa Rica Vacations (costa-rica-vacations.com. The travel agent who helped us was Fanny Rivera and I can't say enough about her help and attention to our needs. I was pretty specific about where we wanted to stay in each place and she was able to book our hotels and package the whole trip for no more than what it would have cost me if I done it myself. But the personal attention, from picking us up at the airport, to providing us with gift baskets (the cookies were a life saver along the way), to making sure my 83 year old father had appropriate accommodations made the trip so special. When we decided against renting a car the morning we were set to start out to Arenal, she was able to find us a van and a driver within a matter of hours. She even called us a couple of times along our journey to make sure everything was okay. In Arenal, we stayed at Volcano Lodge, a reasonably priced hotel with absolutely beautiful grounds. Take the hike around the hotel grounds. We visited Tabacon Hot Springs, a wonderful treat for anyone. Spend the day and indulge yourself. In Monteverde, we stayed at the Hotel Fonda Vela, another beautiful place built into the cloud forest and very close to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve. Finally, we ended our trip at the Riu Guanacaste. This was our first time staying at an all inclusive. The food was decent and plentiful and the hotel was great. Staff attended to our every needs, especially on the night of my sister's 50th birthday. Thank you, Fanny, for all of your help. I will definitely recommend you and your company. Next time we come back to Costa Rica, I will give you a call.
