Dubious business practices.
Players were offered invitations to participate in Open Beta of one of their products as part of a pre-order offer, along with a 3 day "Head Start" program. Cryptic did not alter the game during open beta, nor during the head start program. Cryptic did not notify their customers that they would be making any major alterations to the game, yet did so on the first day of release once the majority of pre-order customers had already entered their game keys, thereby removing the possibility of refund.
Refunds were only issued for 6-month and lifetime subscriptions so long as they requested them before the "free month" that came with the game expired.
