I started training at Eco Dive Center in July 2007. I got my Open Water Cert and then was so hooked I went all the way to Instructor! I did all my training at Eco Dive - and, let me tell you, they really know their stuff!
The staff is friendly and thorough. They always try to keep the classes upbeat and fun - while keeping a good eye on your safety.
The Owners, Beth & Ron, are around a lot of the time and the rest of the staff rocks too. I like supporting a small, family owned business - the prices are the same (or better) than the chains (Sport Chalet) but you get the small "family" spirit.
I bought all my dive gear through Eco, and while SCUBA isn't the cheapest sport around, Eco has great product lines and the staff will work with you to put together great packages and discounts. For example, I bought a nice steel LP tank and got free airfills for life. When I put together my initial full gear purchase - BCD, tank, weights, bag, wet suit, regulator, computer - the whole 9 yards, Beth gave me a great package discount.
Personally, I believe in supporting brick & mortar stores over internet stores - I want them to be there for my training, I want them to be there when I need my gear serviced - so I need to support them when I am buying gear too!
Oh, the dive club is awesome - once a month, great way to meet & make dive buddies - and it's FREE.
OK - that's it. If you're reading this trying to decide whether you want to get certified: DO IT. And do it at Eco Dive Center. You won't regret it....promise!
