Review 10/31/2007
Original estimate was 2,200 and I paid about 4,000

They estimated the job at 8.5 cf feet but after all was said and done it came out to 13 cf. I dont even know how they calculated it. He just said this much of truck is that much cubic feet.

The foreman started telling me that he has to wrap this and that and just about everything. They charged for all this wrapping with tape and they didnt tell me I had to have it done until they were doing it. They did post charges per roll but I didnt know they would use about 36 rolls and it was required.

When I questioned the foreman he was very rude and started arguing with me.

When I got the delivery about two weeks later it was almost 5pm (kind of late and I was told over the phone that I need cash only or 5 or 6 us postal money orders.

Upon delivery many items were damaged or missing. The workers were just like "oops" that happens.

I started moving boxes myself as it was dark and getting very late. So me and the wife both were helping out. Wondering why we just didnt do the move ourselves.

If you only get the basic insurance they provide you will get .60 cents per pound of damaged goods. I thought it was 60% of the claim not per pound.

So if you have a $1500 flat screen that is broken you will only get about 30 bucks for it.

So, having additional insurance is a necessity and I would have gotten it if I understood it in the beginning.

Whoever you use for the move, I would suggest you have them come to your home prior to the move and confirm exactly how much it will cost after you have finished packing. Let them look at all your stuff that way they cant say we didnt know you had this much. As this site recommends get a binding quote. I also recommend getting other insurance in addition to the basic insurance. Its a must.

Here is what I would reccomend to this company.

1. Give people a more accurate quote by going out to the house after home is packed and before moving.

2. Train the crew on being more courteous and less confrontational. The customer is who pays thier paycheck. Exlplain things in a friendly matter.

3. Stress over the phone the importance of getting additional insurance and using an example of how the insurance they provide works.

4. Treat the boxes and items moved as if they were your own. Im sure there would have been less damage and missing items if more care was used.

5. Try to deliver earlier in the day.

If you do all of these things you will see 4 or 5 stars.
