I would NOT give Peter Johannesen or his company (whichever it might be) any money. Don't let what happen to us, happen to you!!
We hired Peter Johannesen Construction (now Five Star Construction) to do our kitchen remodel and replace the living room floor. We paid him $13K (50% of the job). He came into our home and said it would be $2600 for everything in regards to the living room floor, after we started he then said it would be an additional $500 for quarter round. Same goes for other items in the kitchen. We stated from the start (prior to signing the contract) we wanted Travertine, now he says he only put in a .50 cents to $1.50 allowance for tile. His original kitchen estimate of $26K was quickly going up. At this point, only 2 1/2 days of work had been completed and was only focused on the living room floor. This is when he just stopped communicating with us. We made several attempts to contact him with no response. He still has $13K of our money and has done less than $2600 worth of work, since our living room floor is unfinished. He went 28 days without any contact. We are now out $13K and kitchen that looks exactly the same as the day we wrote the check on July 28th. Again, I would stay far away from Peter Johannesen and any of his companies. (Johannesen Enterprises, Johannesen Construction, and now Five Star Construction) He is dishonest and has no integrity and should not be trusted to do any work in anyone’s home. I feel like I have been violated and taken advantage of by this man. My dream of having a new remodeled kitchen has now come crashing down since he took our money.
