I received a contingent job offer based on employment and background check verification on 12/2/16. I received Hireright info 12/3/16.This included a very long application process, filling out agencies, dates and telephone numbers. It was long, and tedious....possibly gave my computer and my second computer virus or malware (one computer stopped working after downloading from their website, second computer running slow, had to finish on tablet) However, I completed it.Then this happened...
I worked within the same company, (Company A) under different divisions/ supervisors for six years (4/2010-5/2016). I worked out of state for a similar company (Company B) for six months (6/2016-11/2016).
I receive an email today, 12/5/16 stating hireright can only verify my employment for company A from September 01, 2012 through December 31, 2016. No, that's not a typo. They verified my employment through 12/31/2016. Today is December 5, 2016.....and I'm not employed with Company A or B. I'm not EVEN EMPLOYED at this time. They lumped company B's time in with this erroneous time frame. I called to voice concerns because as mentioned multiple times, misleading or incorrect information can lead to withdrawal of employment offer.
I spoke with three people, received three different responses, three different dispute numbers....third person did not understand why I wanted to dispute results if it covered time with both companies, even if it was wrong! I have never encountered anything like this. Each customer service representative was rude and accused me of lying. Icing on the cake? I'm still friends with people in Company A so I made a few phone calls this afternoon.....hireright never called to verify dates of employment.
Because my potential employer uses this company, I am sending the recruiter this link and declining contingent offer. Any business who uses this company is either naive or just as slimy. I am unsure how they verify employment records, but it isn't by telephone calls, and they aren't concerned whether the information is accurate. Further, I am concerned how they email private information through non secured sites?
I think tomorrow I will find out who monitors them and file a complaint.
