BULLIES AND THIEVES
I strongly caution anybody who is considering residing/renting from one of their properties to run away as fast as possible. I do not have the energy left to explain every detail, but I will hit a few main points. Good luck getting ahold of them. They have two lines available to the public, a tenant relations line that is never answered, and the messages are never returned. The "main" line goes to an operator "Jessica" who is quick to transfer you to tenant relations, put you on hold forever, or just hang up. I mean as soon as she answers she hits one of these options, it is obviously what she has been trained to do. Emailing them is also no good, you'll never receive a response. The management at my physical property is no better, and it is clear they are following the corporate scheme. Tell the residents as little as possible (not to mention they are incredibly rude) and seize as much of our money as possible. Our last month's rent was to be prorated as we would only be there for 15 days, this was discussed with management at length (they prorated incorrectly initially and it was a chore to nail down the actual amount) I sent an email confirming the prorated amount and our move out date. We were never told we would have to pay rent in any other fashion than what we had been doing since moving in 2 years prior (we always pay through the online system). When the day came to pay the prorated amount I logged in to find an amount that was $700 over the amount contracted rate. I called the office and left messages to please explain, but did not receive a callback, so I paid it to avoid a late fee penalty. I assumed it should be easy enough to be refunded the additional amount. I did not expect they would hold my own money hostage from me. They told me that they would not process it back until after our move out date, (15 days away) and that the state gives them 30 days after that to hold it before they must release it. I said I understood that, but why would they not just refund me my money? They simply said because they had 30 days after move out and that that is the company policy. Also, they will deduct anything they deem "damages" from this exponential positive balance. It seems more and more clear that this is their standard practice to take advantage of the online payment system by not informing the tenants of the technical issue. I will also note the amount we paid was not our pro rated amount, our previous rent amount, nor the month to month rent amount we were informed of, and they will not get the explanation of charges to us for review. They will literally steal your hard earned money and tell you it is company policy. Please heed the reviews here.
