Review 2/11/2009
As far as the system for JROX JAM being very easy to install and use with an excellent design for the affiliate backoffice and the admin office, it's no wonder their software has been rated #1 on this area. However, JAM (by JROX) seems to have far too many bugs within the system itself with not enough support to be able to resolve these bugs. Using their affiliate software in a high end webhosting company offering webhosting solutions to customers in the thousands whom I rely on to help dramatically increase my sales, it's impossible to keep and stay in business. Support requests regarding severe commission bugs have went on for days without ever contacting me for more details on the bug nor asking for the needed information to look into my system to see if there was something misconfigured, nothing. It's now day 4 and still waiting on a reply regarding this urgent and serious issue which can destroy near any company. Their support forum is highly lacking in full documentation of issues. I've attempted searching their support forums time and time again seeking resolutions for the issues that my company is having with their product. Normally when I run into someone else having my EXACT same issue described by someone else in full detail, it keeps going and going and just when I think I have a resolution from the forums, the support team sent a PM (Private Message) to the user on how to fix the issue, so no public reply nor documentation to help out there. Their docs (documentation) section also seriously lacks information entirely and leaves much to be desired. JAM by JROX Technologies would be best off being Open Source as the amount of bugs in the system software for their Affiliate Manager isn't worth the headaches, time, energy, money nor bandwidth to even try. The other issue with their system is some of the affiliates are able to receive emails from the server administrators (myself included) and this was tested with my own dummy account. I do not receive any emails and have my entire domain whitelisted and even wildcarded in order to be certain that I receive my own emails from the system. I don't receive any. Some users do, most don't. This issue was unable to be resolved still and no public documentation anywhere to fix it (even though other users from the support forums have encountered the exact same issue). Furthermore, in order for their system for JAM to show the final level of your MLM affiliate marketing, you actually have to have 1 tier more than what you want or need and set it to a commission rate of $0 so the final tier will show. JROX has so far made claims from the forums that this isn't a bug, it's a feature, but without user's prior knowledge nor actual documentation during the installation guide stating this fact, the user of their JROX JAM software will not know this and have many headaches to come. All in all, it's not worth it in any size, shape nor form and is best being left entirely alone. Other software programmers of mine have evaluated this software professional and have deemed the software to be worth $20. They charge $250. I definitely feel this software should become Open Source so actual programmers that know what they're doing can fix the software publicly and have something that actually works for a change, rather than bugs being masked. A further note, if you ask for support and you don't make them out to sound like their "Da Bomb" and "The Best Out There", they will delete your support forum post and ignore it and apparently will begin to ignore you. They DO NOT follow up with their initial contract and they definitely seem to not pull through with their agreements. I'm half tempted to ask for a full refund once I finish switching to PAP3 for my Affiliate Marketing Needs. I just seriously hope they don't screw me out of the money for faulty software that they seemingly keep trying to cover up all the bugs with sugar and deleting bad testimonials from their system entirely leaving a dishonest appearance of greatness on their entire site. Their main site is also very difficult to navigate and very poor encoding. Using a simple program to unencode the Zend encoding reveals the entire source code, so their security is also extremely lacking, but also revealed a magnitude of poor coding design and bugs that were literally just reworked but left intact in the system's source code entirely. I fear that using this software with it being so easy and so simple to de-encode may pose a serious security risk inviting hackers to deface and destroy an entire business by poor design, poor code and poor encryption methods. Post Affiliate Pro has so far been very responsive, helpful and is even able to convert my user database over from JROX JAM to PAP3 or PAP4 (whichever I choose) and regenerate the commissions so that they're appropriate which I highly recommend over using anything from JROX. I feel JROX could've definitely done better if they had more public answers for all the bug reports they've received as well as not ignoring the posts and requests for support from extreme bugs within their commissions from duplicate commissions all the way down to some user's commissions not showing up at all. All in all, just truly dissatisfied and wouldn't recommend JAM to any other business unless these above issues are resolved. Today's date is 2/11/2009.
