Timing is everything. I was in the final stages of re-financing with the broker I used to buy my house 18 months ago. While he did an excellent job with my original loan, his expertise, communication and process management failed to deliver an experience I expected from someone I’ve worked with before.
I was scheduled to sign the final loan documents only to find out nothing that was promised would happen on the day of close: remove PMI, lower interest rate, minimal closing costs and lower monthly payments. The Friday before I was to sign, I found out the loan would remove the PMI, but the interest rate would remain flat, closing costs would be in excess of $5k and there would be no change in my monthly payments.
The following Monday (2 days later), I called my broker and cancelled the re-fi and loan document signings. This was at 9:46 am. At 9:51 am, I received a voice mail from Paul Hampton of Lenox Home Loans asking if I wanted to reduce my monthly mortgage payments.
Timing is everything. What a difference 5 minutes can make. Within the hour, Paul and I agreed to moving forward with the process. He promised the removal of PMI, a lower interest rate, zero out of pocket closing costs and lower monthly payments. Twenty-one business days later, my loan was finalized.
I give 5 stars because Paul and his processing team were honest, transparent and on the side of the customer from start to finish. I would recommend Lenox Home Loans --- If you are reading this review, consider it might be a sign to contact Paul Hampton because timing is everything.
