Review 5/16/2009
My wife elected to try the Max Colon trial. The day that it arrived I commented that I thought it was a scam. She promptly packaged the product, marked cancel on the invoice and returned the product. She later received other bottles, but promptly returned them. She tried to call the company, but never waited long enough to speak to anyone. I've seen reports that calling can take over an hour. Emails take about 48 hours, even though the web site claims they answer in 24. Within 31 days I received over $350 in billings on my bank account! What did I do about it? I googled terms like "consumer watch", Better Business Bureau, and many other terms. I then used the results of that search to warn as many people as I could about this "snake in the grass" masquerading as wild west snake oil salesmen behind the facade of a legit business. And I let the company know what I was doing. And I got all but one instance of shipping refunded. I am thinking about going after the shipping. The company will tell you that you should have read the agreement. But this agreement has been tripping large numbers of people and Max Colon knows this. I have seen a large number of company replies which always read "You should have read...". It is obvious to me that they have purposely put just enough twist to a business model we have all seen for years to trip people. That model looks like "try the product and if you don't like it return at no charge", and by requiring an RMA (an obsure requirement placed out of immediate view on the web page) created a way for people to mess up their chances for a refund. It is easy to screw this up. You do the agreement one day, and cancel 10+ days later. Even done correctly, requesting an RMA is often only successful after much static from the company. Research this and you will see that there are a large number of people that have been bitten by this snake. If Max Colon was interested in doing the right thing, they would do something about this trap. Perhaps they could send an email reminder when the trial nears expiration. The fact that they have left this trap in place makes me confident that they have earned the name "snake in the grass". Those of us who have been bitten can try to warn those to follow. And that is why I wrote this today! Buyer Beware!
