Watch out!! We are in a similar situation as Jim K with Meredian Financial. We thought we had checked out this company before dealing with them but they were not what they seemed. When they first contacted us their emails showed an A- BBB rating. I checked with the BBB and it was actually a B+, it is now an F. We applied for two loans through them (primary home and vacation home) which we were assured would be no problem. I am a retired banker with an extensive mortgage lending background so I knew what to expect. Things went south real quickly. Outdated forms were sent with incorrect amounts on them, correspondence stopped, questions went unanswered. We have asked for a refund of escrow monies which has not been forthcoming. When we said we were filing complaints against them, Mr. Assali threatened us with a law suit if we complained. We are now in touch with Mr. Lembi of the Orange County DA's office.
