Sewer line backs up and I decided to call (what I thought was) a reputable company. They are a sister company of George Brazil. All prices are based on a chart which (secretly) adds an insurance amount in case they mess up. The price to put in a 4" cleanout using about 5 feet of ABS piping plus the digging up of about 6 feet was over $2000. The price to replace the remaining 20+ feet would have been an additional $4700. The price to replace a water regulator about $850 (material cost $100). Other plumber quotes came in at about $3000 to do the same job as $6700.
If their work was a good as they claim it is, why do they need to add so much extra to cover their "insurance" in case it fails?
