Nu Dentistry Review

I called Nu Dentistry and asked if I could get my teeth examined and cleaned on the same day and they assured me that they would be able to perform both; So, I scheduled with Nu Dentistry on this pretext. The staff was nice, the place looked amazing (very clean modern design) and the dentist was nice during the exam and I thought he did a good job. He was telling me that I had bone loss and we discussed the importance of cleaning my teeth (flossing, brushing and water pic). Then he left and said he would discuss my options (but he did not discuss any options with me). A representative came in and said that the dentist recommended a deep cleaning and it would cost me roughly 450$ out of my pocket. I declined and said that I would like to have the regular cleaning (that is why I came). The rep said that was not possible and that my option was I could get a deep cleaning or nothing (funny using the word options because there were no options). I asked to speak to someone above the rep. The next person’s comments were even more upsetting. The manager stated that professional cleaning would not benefit me (but the Dr just told me the importance of keeping my teeth clean.) So, I was told by the manager that a regular professional dental cleaning which cleans my teeth way more effectively than brushing and flossing would not benefit me! The manager could have said deep cleaning would be more beneficial than regular cleaning but the manager did not want to concede anything. The manager also told me that the insurance would look at my X-rays and diagnosis and they would not pay for the regular cleaning (I just finished speaking to the insurance representative and she said this was not true). I feel I was lied to, directly to my face, and someone less knowledgeable would believe those incorrect statements. I believe that they try to diagnose as many people as they can to have a deep clean because it pays much more money to Nu Dentistry. I question how many people that they give no options too and that this is not the way to treat a patient/customer. I am now going to a dentist owned clinic and she will perform the deep cleaning for 200$ utilizing my insurance. She also will perform the regular cleaning (instead of the deep cleaning if that is all I want) but she recommends the deep cleaning. She also said that it is an absurd statement that I would not benefit from a regular cleaning. In summary, Nu Dentistry has a very nice-looking place with new equipment, televisions etc. and their actions lead me to believe their emphasis is to maximize profits at the expense of patient satisfaction.
