Review 4/21/2011
Where to begin with this company. Well I would like to start off by saying that this is the worst company I have ever dealt with and their business practices are truly unethical. If there was an option for negative stars I would clearly give them negatives stars. Well my experience starts off by a lady by the name of Linda who called me on Feb. 21st, 2011 to ask if I required moving service. After a couple of days I decided I'd give them a chance and was given a quote of $195. I signed the quote on Feb. 23rd that she had E-mailed to me detailing what they were going to offer to me for the amount of $195 to move my things on Feb. 26th from a 1 bedroom apartment to my new 2 bedroom apartment. Once I signed the quote and faxed it to her she called me back and stated that it was required that I sign a finalize document. I waited for 2 days without any reply from her and I phone her 3 times asking her for the final quote. So on Feb 25th I told her that I would not be requiring her service and she me that I could not cancel and that I would be charged a $100 deposit regardless if I was to go through with the service. At this point my head was about to explode from the continuous argument that I was having. I was really upset to say the least and explained the whole thing to my wife. She thought I was exaggerating and decided to call on Feb 26th to patch things up. She then had an argument with the manager and they told her the exact same thing that I was told. That we are going to have to pay the $100. My wife buckled and decided to rebook with them given that we were going to lose a $100. So we book for the following day Feb 27th at 8AM in the morning. The mover arrived late at 8:45 and did not start working until 9:15. They worked like snails. After 2 hours of work, they managed to move 1 bed w/o frame, 1 frig, 1 couch, 2 book shelves, and a few boxes. I was extremely upset because I was paying to move such little furniture. I had asked them to move my TV stand and they told me it would be an additional $75 because it had glass. They wanted to charge an additional for everything. I decline the service at that point and demanded they start driving to my new apartment. When I got to the new apartment the mover was on the phone for 20 mins inside the truck making another appointment. After he gets out of the truck he takes me in to my new apartment and demand that I pay him $300. I told him that I only agreed to $195 that Linda quoted me and not the $300 he requested. He informed me that he will hold my belongings as hostage if I did not sign the paperwork to give him the $300 dollars. I immediately called the cops and to my surprise the Alhambra police department did not force them to give me back my things. In the end I had to sign the documents to get my belongings back and the police office said I had to take them to small claims court to recoup my losses. Throughout my life this is the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I do not know why they had to hide the hidden fees and not be upfront about it in the beginning. I really do not know how they manage to stay in business this long.
