Review 4/5/2010
I moved in July of 2009 from Columbia, South Carolina to Seattle, Washington. This company is horrible to deal with. After I called and made my reservation the companies rep talked me out of the amount of room I requested for my move. When the movers came, and the company rep had brought me down to a lower space, so when I had to pay, I was forced to pay at a higher per cubic foot rate than if I had reserved more room which I had initially requested. Costing me an additional $500 on what it should have. The moving company informed me that my shipment could be stored at their facility for 30 days. However, while I was in Minnesota I received a call at 4:00 am with someone on the phone asking what my drop off address was. I informed him that I was not ready to receive my shipment, and it was intended to go to the companies storage. He said, "Yes, sure company storage. I just need to write down an address, and we will take it to our storage." So I gave him my brother address in Seattle. Then the next day he called back and said, "I'll be there tomorrow to drop off your shipment." Then I informed him I was unable to receive my shipment since I wasn't in the state. After he yelled at me for an hour about how "I called them." I finally spoke to someone who's first language was English and explained my situation to them. However, I got no where since I gave an address... Which brought me to question what would have happened to all my stuff if I hadn't given an address. When they dropped off my stuff, items were missing and broken. In addition to that, SOMEONE'S ELSE'S THINGS WERE IN MY SHIPMENT! So I called to straiten this problem up, and they informed me, "It happens more often than you'd think." So I asked what to do with this other persons personal items, and they said, "What do I care?" My bed frame was broken, chipped, and scratched. My recliner was torn. My BBQ was half missing. My bookshelf got lost. MY BOXES HAD BEEN GONE THROUGH! And a number of items were missing, namely DVD's and books. Then I filled out the insurance information, and after 9 months I finally have resolved this issue. I was reimbursed $85.20 on over $2,000 damages. I would only suggest that NO ONE would ever use this company, and I hope the people running this business lose everything they have, because they have taken from me.
